Boogs v Vols

Really looking forward to this game. I want to see how we deal with Schoefield and Williams down low. Gotta rebound well and make some outside shots.

I’m all for chatting about this one. I’m in Boog football hell for the next 2 hours so would be a welcome change of topic.

Think we matchup really well. Can’t get overwhelmed by the road environment early like we did against Murray. If we match their intensity on D and the boards we’ll have a chance.

I don’t know much about Tennessee. Saw they had a OT heartbreaking loss to Arkansas to open SEC play. Maybe they’ll be beat down from that and roll over for us.

Gonna be a fired up crowd with BRUCE in town. We have the more talented squad but they play smart and hard.

I’m convinced after seeing Kentucky struggle with Georgia at home that if we don’t go completely cold for a half, our defense is good enough to beat anyone in the SEC.

Tennessee -5.5

If the team plays defense like it can they should be able to out talent them. I've seen better team play from AU during most of the OOC than I think I have in years.

Hey guys. I’ve been taking a break from boog sports ever since Gus laid that turd in the Peach Bowl. After a lenghty respite , I’m ready to jump back in to support our precious Bruce and his gaggle of handsome men on the hard court. What is your prediction for the perfectly bone structured boogs in SEC play?

Hopefully the Vol fan base will be lackadaisical this close to New Year’s and daydreaming about how Pruitt is gonna duplicate what Kirb has done. My inner boog soul really needs a win tomorrow.

I want to see us play well. Not looking for a moral victory, but if we have a good showing and don’t act phased by the road environment, I’ll be happy, even in a close loss. That’s one of my concerns about this team. We haven’t faced many hostile environments yet, and I’m a little worried about how we will respond to being down early or late in a game.

Winning at Dayton and Murray St were pretty hostile road wins imo. I’ve got faith that this team doesn’t have some fragile mentality like last season

I love our team, but am going to stick with my prediction of this being our biggest deficit of the season. UT by 14.

Espn’s power index isn’t too high on the Boogs tonight

Id be curious to see that for every SEC game and see how often the home team is favored by 60%+. It seems home court advantage gets even more love in bball than football.

It’s a 30% swing on that team rankings site. We’d be about a 60% favorite at home.

Because I'm bored and this sounds like a fun project and because I've already made a full grid SEC schedule, I'll just track it this season. We'll use the ESPN BPI numbers and I'll check the percentages on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The Tuesday/Wednesday games this week 4 teams are favored by 60+%:

Auburn at Tenn: 30/70
Ole Miss at UGA: 30/70
Kentucky at LSU: 49/51
Ark at Miss St: 60/40
Mizzou at SCarolina: 47/53
Florida at aTm: 29/71
Bama at Vandy: 37/63

The Vandy one sticks out since the line is pick'em.

But the LSU one makes no sense to me.

Yeah, both of those surprised me. I know Kentucky didn't show well against UGA, but I have a hard time seeing LSU having a 50/50 shot at beating them tomorrow. I would've expected the Vandy win percentage to be in the 50s. Maybe that awkward ass court is factored in to the BPI?

That algorithm is jacked if it’s spits out LSU having 51% chance against UK. I’d buy like 35% chance at best.

Wow. The Vandy/Bama line has moved from Bama -1 yesterday to Vandy -3
