@DufnerFanBoy with some key deets on Coby White being the roommate of flu boy the last few days and may have some symptoms himself

All I know is I’ve had the flu twice in my life and both times were early spring. The first time I was out of work for two weeks, couldn’t sleep at night because I couldn’t breathe and if I smelled food, I vomited.
The second time I ended up in the ER with flu induced asthma and torn intercostal muscles because of a nonproductive cough and not being able to breathe. Was out of work 3 weeks that time.
He may not surface again till the middle of April. Who knows?

I got the softest version of it I've ever had this year and it still wiped me out for 4 days. Day 2 was the 104 fever day, and I had traveled to NYC for work before I got symptoms. I walked 4 blocks to a clinic and am pretty sure I was hallucinating on the way there. DIdn't get out of bed the next day other than crawling to the hotel bathroom.

ESPN Insider article with quotes from some assistants about our HYGs.

“Auburn's going to be a tough out for Carolina. I don't think Carolina is that gritty or tough. Coby White is tough when he gets going. But I'm talking in terms of guard play, pick-and-roll, read-progressions, feel. He takes advantage of spacing. When you're playing Auburn and the kid [Jared] Harper, he's a killer. He understands what's on the line. Bruce [Pearl] will have those guys ready to play. They're going to play with tempo, they're going to shoot 3s. The challenge is, will Auburn rebound well enough? I think that's a pick 'em game. I don't think Kentucky is as gritty and tough as Auburn is. Coby is usually the most athletic guy going, and the way they play creates pace. But I don't think when it's [crunch] time, in the half court, gotta figure it out, they're as tough." -- ACC assistant coach

What has changed for Auburn?

Exactly one month prior to Auburn's blowout win over Kansas on Saturday, the Tigers were in the midst of getting blown out by Kentucky. The 27-point loss to the Wildcats dropped Auburn to 7-7 in the SEC and the precipice of the bubble. The Tigers haven't lost since.

Auburn has rattled off 10 wins in a row and has had one of the best offenses in the country over that stretch. The Tigers have scored 1.18 points per possession and made 12.2 3-pointers per game during the winning streak; both of those numbers would rank in the top three nationally if stretched over the course of a full season.

"They're getting more production out of more guys now," one SEC assistant said. "[Danjel] Purifoy is making one or two extra 3s a game now. [J'Von] McCormick is giving them more production. Everyone knows it's the [Jared] Harper-[Bryce] Brown show, but they're getting more production out of all their guys. They're settling into their roles. We know Bryce is gonna shoot, we know Jared is gonna shoot, but McCormick is coming off the bench, [Samir] Doughty, [Chuma] Okeke is producing, they're hard to beat. It's obvious, but when they're making 3s, you're in trouble. I just feel like now, they're getting a high level of confidence and more production out of more guys."

Defensively, Auburn has actually been worse over that 10-game stretch -- going from No. 32 in adjusted defensive efficiency (per BartTorvik.com) before the winning streak to No. 43 now. The Tigers have allowed at least one point per possession in eight of the 10 wins. With that said, Auburn is forcing turnovers and making opponents uncomfortable.

"They make you play like them," another SEC assistant said. "We like to slow it down, but when you play against them, they speed you up. They gamble, but they make you play how they want to play. They do a good job of converting off turnovers. And it's not converting layups, it's converting 3s. That's what really kills you."

first paragraph is the key

if Jared > White, we win

I’ve said it since Sunday... and with each passing day I feel far better about that matchup than I expected to

my only concern at this point is there’s something obvious in that matchup I’m overlooking... maybe White’s size and length is such an advantage that he’s not going to feel any defensive pressure and will shoot over the top of whoever is guarding him... and maybe his length is such an issue on defense that he’ll have Jared out of sorts the entire game

I think that’s very unlikely, but it’s a possibility

White is going to have to make more bad shots, and have his amazing physical gifts overcome poor decisions to outplay Jared tomorrow... so I feel as good about our chances as I could ever reasonably expect

I am a little worried about Maye. He could get all our bigs in major foul trouble and be really productive in the half court game. If UNC decides to slow down and doesn't play their usual pace, they should be better than us in a half court style game and Maye would be a big part of that.

However, it really does come down to your first point. If Jared is better than White, none of this other stuff matters much. UNC will have a hard time beating us while losing that particular matchup.

if our bigs are lunging out and being too aggressive trying to get blocks he will feast at the FT line. They need to understand that he's not going to out-jump them and that they can block the shots even if they get off the floor after him. He will pump fake us into oblivion if we're too hyped, which seems to be our nature. I feel better with Chuma being on him than the other for this reason. Chuma doesn't tend to get as out of control.

I'm really curious how we play them without a typical C playing. Brooks will be guarded by Mac/Horace/Wiley, but over the course of the game I'd be tempted to play Wiley vs Brooks for the most minutes. Might give us something in the post at the other end without hurting us on defense. And we could go full death lineup if we want to get nuts. Harper/Brown/Malik/Purifoy/Chuma is a shooters shoot lineup and stretches the hell out of the floor. They don't have a huge post game with someone that shoots over the top, its Maye playing below the rim. Chuma can handle that IMO
