Huge get and a reason we will have the top LB class in the nation and possibly the history of AU.

And, you are correct. Gus and staff have continued to recruit at a very high level despite an enormous amount of pressure and obstacles, some/most of which he created....

Having classes that fill needs and a roster that is solid from top to bottom with depth would be something to give Gus credit for. Having some positions with highly talented players that often go undeveloped or wasted in other ways means nothing. Saban made everyone realize how important Signing Day is, but what he does with them once he gets them on campus and the complete rosters he puts together are what makes what he does special. Gus deserves ZERO credit for getting good commitments at this point because he has done it before and can’t capitalize on the field.

While I hope and figure all of this is great, I have no idea who any of these kids are we are recruiting, which is the reason I got on Rivals to start with. A great recruiting class would be wonderful, but until they sign & start playing, I'm not keeping up with any of them. My dad used to go as far as keeping newspapers for 10 years of signing day & we enjoyed going over all the lists every year. We would look at the ones that had just turned 10 & then burn them. Just a crazy custom we shared I guess.

I think the Auburn guru on 247 sports said he thought Webb was LSU right now. That could easily change. I think he doesn't release a lot of information and changes his mind a,lot based on the information he does release. I didn't even know LSU was heavily involved in his recruitment
 
wow after trying to give Woody's story a click i made the mistake off reviewing the current Rivals 100 hut hut edition. Gus has 1 of these kids locked up at #76. By comparison Klempsun has 10 commitments in the top 75 including the nation's top overall ranked player and 5 of the top 25 ans seems to be in on half the kids that are undecided. even more mind blowing is that their class is ranked 3rd in the nation behind UAT and the Korndawgs.

Typically i don't pay any attention to these rankings as Gus and his staff historically haven't been able to do much with the kids that live in this neighborhood but it does show the ever growing chasm in talent acquisition the AU football program faces.

Thank god for Bruce and his HYGs

Apparently AU is looking to sign 3 JUCO OTs if they can land the Coffee kid. Hopefully at least one of the 3 will be good enough to start for what otherwise could be a real weakness next year. My understanding is all 3 of them could be early enrollees and go through spring practice and summer conditioning.

Clemson is having a,bama type recruiting year. Gus has never recruited like that but it is still probably top 10 or 12 in quality

I don't care as long as he can extend plays, play well under pressure, and not be afraid of contact.

I know these are just camp numbers, but apparently he ran the 40 in the 4.6s and posted a 37 inch vertical, so he seems to be a pretty good athlete

i mean, that's cool, but I really do wish he'd just stick to an ideology and stay with it. The bouncing around and inability to make up his mind is tiresome and just leads him to have more excuses.

ESPN came out with their top 300 for 2021.
Running back Armoni Goodwin was 70th and quarterback Aaron McClaughlin was 74th. Auburn's only two commitments for 2021 so far
 
I checked in on tbb today just to take a gander. I haven’t clicked on a huthut crootin thread in quite awhile, and when I saw this stud DB was all Texas per Jlee, I felt like we would lock him down. I’m not gonna start keeping up with it, but I really hope the Boogs do well FWIW.

Recruiting is going so well I am almost on board with the idea that Gus has started cheating. Fine with me as long as he doesn't get caught

An elite running back named Tank Bigsby is expected to commit to Auburn next Friday. Picked Auburn over Georgia. Even the Georgia mods have crystal balled him to Auburn.

This means all the changes Gus made this year were for the better in recruiting.

This will be the second elite running back Caddy has reeled in. Horton couldn't recruit his own shadow

Idk if it’s something long term but he has top 2 Juco OTs committed, a 4 star OT, a 3 Star OT with good offers, and 2 3 Star OGs with good offer lists.

Needs to start adding 4-5 per year IMO then we can say he’s learned his lesson

I fully expect us to sign one 3 Star guard next year doe

Are you saying four total OTs or 2 OTs and both are JUCO guys?
 
This big week will push us ahead of the Mississippi schools and get us to 6th in the SEC on Rivals.

Not to mention uga has 2 guys that are in the running to get bumped to 5* and they expect to get commitments from possibly 3 or 4 more 5* kids and possibly 5 more high 4* kids. Insane classes by all our biggest rivals.
