Gonna say this one more time. THEY can keep Gus as long as they want if he doesn’t embarrass the huthut squad like that POS Jeremy Pruitt & keep our man BRUCE. I’ve been all over town today sporting my Final Four tee & visor. Boogs have done so well in the huthut that we are getting the part of the crossover redneck base. Just let me wear my swag in peace. I’ll take an A- on this analysis. Nix might not be as good at RPOs as I thought being that he isn’t that good at throwing the football.
JGT has never broken a sweat in his entire life playing a team sport. He is trash & lost his best posters to the Greg & that can be verified by what I can see every day. Some of the suck asses come here to read, but know they are not worthy to post here. I was actually “kicked off” because I called him out in a DM cause he put ADAG in an orange football “BOX” & he didn’t like it because he thinks tbb should be all the huthut. Yes well done. And I’d just like to mention something I’ve been saying for the last 5 yrs before shifting to hoops. Our only pass plays worth a fug are when we launch it downfield to a big bodied WR in single coverage. Well actually this child has missed many to guys running wide open with nobody covering but whatev Gus gotta have a precision passer these days!
The D deserved better. Bo looked like ass. For those of us who took the Over 7.5 wins season total, we're going to fly by that......with 8. I knew I could count on Gus.

I'm having a hard time putting any blame on Bo when it's Gus' fault he's having to start a freshman at QB due to atrocious evaluation, recruiting, and development of QBs over his entire tenure at AU.
I certainly don't blame Bo for the loss. But he did look horrible. It's all Gus. Play calling, personnel decisions, O-line play. Same ol song and dance.
QBs seem to get more panicky in the pocket when they play for Gus. It is an odd phenomenon
It’s almost as if they don’t feel comfortable. Like we don’t pass protect. Or run legitimate routes to get guys open. Or have like a ‘tight end’ or RB as a reliable check down target. If I didn’t know better I’d think we had some rinky dink HS passing game that has no place in the SEC.
This X 1000 threads & it’s a relentless post only board. We have a child that commits to Boog U (or anything else for that matter) and it’s ridiculous how many “look at me” threads are started. I need to take this time to apologize to @Slippin Jimmy for not seeing his NFL thread & starting another.
Gus likes to utilize the same game plans over and over. He likes to run 8-12 plays per game. We out talent 7-8 teams a year. The other 4-5 teams, they game plan and pin their ears back.

*whispers* Kevin Steele and our defense as a whole is a tad overrated
Brown and Marlon are beasts... Britt is my guy... I’d happily accept a piggyback ride from any of the 3... and we’ve got a couple of good corners
but that’s like the 4th time this year a team moved the ball up and down the field on us early until he adjusted... and we’re still very vulnerable to good passing attacks
now - he usually adjusts... and his red zone and third down defense is usually on point... and our rush defense is elite elite this year... by and large this is a championship caliber defense - it’s good enough to keep us in every game, and Brown is the best player on the field every game
but Steele can thank Gus’ incompetence for insulating him from any criticism

Steele has always been a bend but don’t break guy, which would be fine if Gus was truly an offensive mastermind. The only exception was 2017 when we had two NFL corners. That allowed Steele to be more aggressive and I think he saw that he had to be. Our corners this year are good but not great. Daniel Thomas is still a guy who plays better in the box than as a true safety. He’s a poor man’s Tray Matthews. Our DBs do tackle pretty well most of the time. One big problem is that our DL is phenomenal against the run, but pretty mediocre as pass rushers. That has led to several 3rd and long conversions that the 2017 defense with Jeff Holland would have never given up.
The fact that the D is as good as it is blows my mind. No way in the world would I put my body in harms way for a clown shoes coach like Gus.
Biggest problem in this game wasn't the corners. We got outschemed on both touchdowns passes and had linebackers matched up on wide receivers
Daniel Thomas could have stopped the first touchdown pass and the 88 yard run, but his tackling in space was not great.
You can call it outschemed if you want, but that isn't really the case. We just got caught in a bad call. We brought a corner blitz that got there a half second late. If they are running any passes concepts that take longer to develop we are fine. It still should have just been a nice gain and not a TD but we didn't get to the receiver and make a tackle like we should have. It is a calculated risk that went worse than it should have. The 2nd TD they got in an empty set. Unless you want to take KJ Britt off the field he is going to have some pass coverage responsibilities in that scenario. Two things went against us there. First, they were able to block our DL without a RB or TE (which is extremely frustrating as their OL isn't that great). Secondly, Britt fell for a fake sit down by the WR. Safety was probably out of position as well. As much as they were on the field due to Gus'and his infinite 3 and outs, I would say the D played pretty damn well.
At least he has reduced the size of his bitch tits
