++++++++ Official LSU vs The Boogs Game Thread +++++++++

Saw Kenny at Highlands late one night the week of that monster LSU game.

Me: What are you doing man?
Kenny: Aw this is just water, I'm good.
Me: Just as long as you're good Saturday.
Kenny: I'm straight, I'm going for 200 on Saturday.

And that's one of several reasons Kenny Irons will always be one of my favorite AU RBs.

he called it... but as impressive at that was, his game against them in 06 is the game against which all future Auburn RB’s will forever be judged

LSU avg’d 1.8 ypc for the game
their longest run was 9 yards
AU avg’d 1.9
Kenny had 25 for 68 - with a long of 12

he got every. single. possible. inch. on every single carry and never showed the first bit of hesitation... he just ran full speed straight into a literal ton of human bodies most of that game, from his first carry to his last

I’ve been to idk how many games in person, and I’ve never seen anything like that one... when a RB shows me he could’ve played in that game, then I’ll trust him - but not before

just 2 days away gang. Just got a gut feeling that Boobie has a kenny irons type game and just runs down their throats.
After watching Shivers run up the middle and having that breakaway speed, I’d like to see him get more touches. All the backs need to hold on to the ball better but I feel better about that position than I did before the season.

I have said this 20 times on AU boards but those 2004-2006 games were just old school, bloodbaths.

I’ve never been concerned about RB. Just the Oline. They need to, and should, play better than they did week 1. Beat down coming.

I love me some Irons brothers.

We are 100 percent on the same page. He fought for every yard in that game. He was talented, but he also wanted it more and fought like hell for it.

insensitivity aside - does anyone have the Hurricane CAMtrina photoshop? just his breathtaking, handsome, chiseled, smiling face photoshopped onto an image of Katrina bearing down on Louisiana

I must’ve spent 15 minutes looking for it last night and it’s nowhere to be found
Ha. Was that a @jdf75 creation? Would definitely pay a few internet bucks to retrieve that. So good.

Oh my goodness, that was gAUld. I remember some great trolling on tMB with that thing. I feel like I used to have it saved somewhere, but I think it was an old personal laptop that stolen. I realized the irony as I typed that last sentence.

Can I interest y’all in a young man fulfilling his athletic potential?

I was sitting about 5 rows up in the end zone where he scored. You’ll never convince me that we didn’t make direct eye contact when he glanced that way before dragging Peterson into the end zone. Looked like he even winked at me, but I can’t be sure

Sounds like he's going to be ok. This guy on AUFamily has always had good injury info.

I can confirm it is an ankle injury. I can confirm it is a sprain and the boot is splinting measure only. Should be ok to go Saturday. Code Blue all clear. Death com 5 averted.

Also whispers say 5-10 plays each for Stove and Herring, with a few "package" plays for Eli.

I was in Skybar the SC game where he Superman dove from the 6 for a TD. That’s when I knew we had something special.

I was in the upper deck of the stadium for that play (well all the home games in 2010) and I literally said "Oh my God." I was screaming at people to watch the replay because he literally flew. Also, I was drunk.

I was pretty much banned from every Auburn board I knew about at that time, so I was in a private chatango chat room with @Gran_Polla , jdf, and 5-6 other shitasses

I hate myself for remembering that - but after that dive we all knew

I was on the front row two sections to the left of where he landed. It was glAUrious. That was also the first game I took my nephew to which started our annual trip to the Plains for a big SEC matchup. He was 7 at that time.

I agree about knowing at the USCe game we had something special. But by the time LSU rolled into town, it was obvious Cam had the whole team believing we were going to be holding up the crystal football in January. They weren’t going to lose.

One of the greatest plays in SEC history... and I was in the student section to see it live.

Will never forget it as long as I live.

Had to go to the bathroom to relieve myself immediately afterwards.

That play (amongst many others) makes me immediately HATE any Auburn fan who possesses the audacity to EVER talk shit about Cameron Jorrell Newton. Ever.

I’d feel better if he knew his Defcon Levels.

Hahahaha!!!!

The good ole days. Remember when @jdf75 posted an audio of that job interview he did? Not sure why I just remembered that, but holy shit those were the days.

yes... hr lady called just to setup the interview and he started listing off his demands - but they were all super mundane shit like “a really nice set of pens”... I just remember him throwing out 4-5 things and basically saying “if you can agree to that we can just go ahead and wrap this up right now”

I wish I’d have saved all of that stuff

Had you been on the bunker? If so what was your handle back then?

For those interested, this is every offensive snap of LSU's game this past Saturday against SE Louisiana. Fairly conservative game plan. They look more effective in spread formations. Their RT gave up a lot of edge pressure and allowed 2-3 sacks. And Joe Burrow is going to die in the SEC if he keeps running like that and not sliding.

It took their O a hail Mary at the half, and playing the starters to the end, to score 31 on a mediocre FCS team (they were "others receiving votes" in this week's FCS top 25). As long as we don't turn it over, and Gus doesn't Gus it up, we should at least cover. That being said, this is lsu, and for all we know the upper deck will collapse on the field and somehow help lsu win. Still, Boogs by 11.

I was Fatz then... I was permabanned within a few weeks of joining in 2010, then when they switched things over to the new boards a few years ago the bans didn’t carry over, so I was back for a little while before ending up over here

I got permabanned in 2010 as well. Unfortunately I didn't have anywhere else to go so I just stopped tronzing for a while.

I feel like getting a commitment from @Fatz Geronimo to join The Greg as a regular was arguably my GOAT recruiting pull.

Channeled my inner BRUCE.

Boom~>Steele was huge for this program. I appreciate the GOBN folks who set that up. Can you imagine if Gus would've gotten his way and hired that clown from USF?
That dude is currently doing well as Indiana’s Head Coach so I doubt that’d been a disaster. The disaster would’ve been if Dye got his way and they hired that butthead of a a DC at FSU

Things really fell apart for him at FSU, so he may be a complete disaster. That being said the entire program was out of control at FSU, and an undisciplined program isn't going to have a good defense IMO. I know a few guys who know him personally and think he's a great coach, BUT I'm definitely glad we got Steele.

I have no doubt he's a good technical football coach but you take Kevin Steele every time in that equation and never look back. We didn't need a 2nd nerd on this coaching staff, and that's coming from a nerd.

*If anyone has boog bored access they will see I argued USF over FSU guy back when it appeared no one of note wanted to come work for Gus without some sort of dire pension need and family ties greasing the wheels.
