gang - don’t look now, but Mac is up to 33% from 3 on the year, Malik is down to 36% but holding steady, and the most G of all HYG’s Chuma is up to 38%
as a team we’re at 38%, and with the volume we shoot that’s enough to keep us in every single game against anyone... I love seeing mouthbreathers durr-hurr’ing about “live by the 3, die by the 3”... every single team in every single sport “lives” by something, but for whatever reason 3 point shooting just really bothers people
All-time SEC record for treys is Arky's 94-95 team with 361. We are at 343. Win 2 in Nashville and there's a good chance we leave there as the greatest 3 point shooting team in SEC history. Bryce also has a shot to move up to #4 on the all time list during the tourney.
We hit 13 as a team yesterday so we are now at 356. 5 treys today moves us into #1 all time in the SEC. Bryce hit 5 to give him 109 on the season, breaking his own AU single season record of 107 treys last year. He is #4 all time in the SEC now with 350 and needs 17 to move into #2 all time. Also Mr Sideways Spin Dougherty is at 41.9%. I agree, I don't hate taking a lot of 3's. Obviously some 3's are better than others, but I think it is who we are.
Can I get an update on these numbers since I'm too lazy to figure it out myself?

It’s just science on the 3 ball. We been right at 40% from 3 since SEC play started. You do nothing but rain 3s at a 40% clip that’s 60% EFG would be #1 in the country.
I know there was a lot of future roster discussion going on in here the past week. But my god, I feel confident going into next season with how Jvon and Danjel have been playing recently. Just need Austin to return or have a good grad tranny 5 to emerge and this can be a really good team even if Jared and Chuma leave.
Agree 100%! And how about Samir, he is so much better too!
PG - J’Von McCormick
G - Samir
F - Danjel
F - McLemore
C - Wiley
Can we BOOG with this lineup?? I think we have potential!
Okay so Mack is a 5... does Wiley stay in the court?? Is there a different starting 5?Don’t see that being a Bruce lineup. Mac will be a 5, he doesn’t have the offensive skills set to be a wing in this offense.

I’m not sure if Wiley stays but if he does and he is healthy I think he starts. I think Danjel at the 4 and the Okoro kid at the 3.
Agreed. If Bruce can sell Chuma on being a lotto pick next year and Jared on not playing in Italy or China, we are going to be set up for another run next year. Wiley isn't getting drafted so hopefully he will pass on overseas money as well to try and demonstrate he can stay healthy and get drafted. Give us all of those guys back plus what we are bringing in and this team will contend for the SEC regular season title and be good enough to go deep in March.I'm still gonna pray that Chuma decides to come back and become a lotto pick with a nice insurance policy to cover his future.
But the last week has given me a ton more confidence in Wiley, Danjel, JVon and we're gonna add some pieces. The confidence our role players have to have gotten from this run and their part in it is going to help us keep building this thing.
Watching replay on SECN now.
Me too. I didn't remember exactly how few points were scored by both teams for the first 8 minutes or so after Harper hit the bench. This was rock ball for a long stretch. Our defense was amazing, Vols were pretty intense too but we also missed a lot of good looks. I do remember thinking "just keep it close till the half please".....and then we Boog'd on em
Yeah we had like 15 points at around the 10 min mark and then we had a decent boog run. Then we booger’s like crazy in the 2nd half. Especially the doctor.
Chuma’s stroke from three has become so beautifulThere was a period where I think we started up 18 and UT's possessions went something like made 2, made 3, made 3. Now if we are playing bad offense, all the sudden a lead that had been 22 is 10 and oh hell we're in lemonbooty mode. They just took their best shot and they'd be back in the game. Instead I believe went went something like Chuma 3, Chuma 3, Malik 3 and actually extended our lead. If I'm a Vol fan right there I just start crying or kicking my dog or whatever it is those crybaby fans do. Cause at that point you just realize you aren't close to the HYG's that you are facing.

He was on Schofield some yesterday wasn’t he? He had one of his worst games in a whileIt's crazy how good he's been vs UT. Those 2 guys are used to having some advantage. If you are too big and slow they take you off the bounce or get easy jumpers. If you are too thin or too short they get on the block and work you. They seek the advantage and know how to exploit it. Most teams can't deal with it. Chuma looks at them and shrugs his shoulders like "what...these dudes are supposed to be problem?". He's strong enough they can't post him. He's quick enough they can't take him off the bounce. He's smart enough to defend them intelligently and not take the bait and give easy fouls. And he's got length they can't deal with. It's almost not fair.
go back and watch both games. Whichever one he was on he owned. I'd love to see the advanced stats on it. I bet they shot 20% with Okeke on them and had a big spike in turnovers too. I was keyed on it for awhile and whichever of those 2 had Okeke on them they were a complete mess.He was on Schofield some yesterday wasn’t he? He had one of his worst games in a while

No doubt Chuma is the better player, but i have to give the other two kudos for making the most of their opportunities. AU has had similar type players who never realized their potential. He especially abused Grant on offense, though I agree with what you're saying on defense. If Grant played low to the ground then he just shot the 3 in his face. If Grant stayed elevated to try and get a hand in his face he blew by him. It's why Chuma is an NBA player and neither of those try-hard oafs are ever going to do anything noteworthy at the next level.
I think Admiral can be a role player in the league. I don't have much for Grant. He's 6'7" and can't elevate and is an okay shooter. He can't guard an NBA 3 or 4. He's peaked as a player. No doubt Chuma is the better player, but i have to give the other two kudos for making the most of their opportunities. I guess they do not update the NET on the final day? Says we are still 18th but our record is correct. No way in hell beating UT by 10 would not have moved us into the top 16. Assuming that is correct, we finished 13th in Pom, 11th in Sag, and 14th in the human poll, but yet the ass hats on the committee ranked us 18th. That's negligent AF.
We have a beef, sure, but what if you were NC State today? Told all season that NET is important, end the season ranked #33 and passed over for #63 Arizona State and #73 St. John's. And then told that you're not even one of the first four out. That would be #60 UNCG, #59 Bama, #52 TCU and #54 Indiana.I guess they do not update the NET on the final day? Oh, I agree NC State probably has the best gripe of teams who were left out. Going 9-9 in the toughest league and beating us should have been enough to put them in, imo. The committee appears to have put the most weight on the number of quad 1/2 wins teams had which put St Johns in over them. The committee thought their non-conference was bad which is a dumb argument given they played 2 good teams (us and Wisky along with a decent team in Penn State). The fact that they give a lot of weight to how good the cupcakes you play are is dumb. Playing the #200 team at home vs the #300 team should not make a huge difference, but it does in terms of SoS.We have a beef, sure, but what if you were NC State today?
