OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

I'm not sure who this Sam Blum cat is, but he's bringing some interesting nuggets to the twittersphere:

Sounds like Bowman will quietly exit while Bruce looks for his replacement.

Coach Pearl said last night that they still think that Chuma goes late in the 1st or early in the 2nd. Coach Pearl wants him to stay in the draft.

He also said that the feedback on SBJ is late 2nd or free agent. If he comes back for another year he's not going to go any higher in the draft but we sure would welcome him back.

He said Auburn doesn't have a player in the NBA and we need one because teams use that against us in recruiting. I can't remember if he said all SEC teams did but us.

Just another instance of refreshing candor from Bruce. Can you imagine the hut hut nerd being this forthcoming?

People forget that Austin is only 20 years old.

I’m sure some deranged imbecile Boogs do, but we don’t... I’ll admit I was down on Austin for large parts of the season, but as soon as I saw him in the SEC tourney it was obvious he’d been hurt much worse than any of us realized... his mobility was shockingly improved

extrapolate that over a 6 month offseason - and prayers to the basketball gods he can get a healthy 6 months in the dungeon with Steven - and he’s going to be a monster next year... and the best part is, Mac improved an equal amount over that same time frame, so we should be able to keep Austin’s minutes in the teens against all but the toughest matchups, and hopefully that keeps him fresh for another 6 month season

I’m skeptical his body will ever allow him 12 months of relatively good health... but if it does, a lot of people are going to be shocked by how dominant he is next year

Yeah. I also think that Jvon's style of play matches with Austin too. I don't think we're going to be constantly raining threes without Jared and Brycea nd those long shots basically eliminates Austin from those possessions. But Jvon loves to attack the basket more and I can easily foresee a lot where Jvon will get in the lane, get defenders off their feet, and then hand it off to Big A for an easy dunk. Would love for Big A to develop some more post moves. Even Ho Daddy had that sweet baby hook down

So he was only on a one year contract? That’s kind of odd unless there was some clause in there that allowed it to be terminated sooner

The way the tweet I am referring to was worded, his contract was only guaranteed through April 30th. Maybe a deal where it's one season with option for...

“We are always gonna be a little smaller. And that’s ok. We won’t get the type of players Kentucky gets every year, but I don’t need the players Kentucky gets. I will keep kicking their ass with players that I can get.”

Watched some extended highlights of this past season’s games yesterday. Gonna miss Ho Daddy so much. He had two times where he went coast to coast and they were both just so breathtaking. Also gonna miss fast break points where Jaredcould easily make a lay up but he hands it off to Bryce for a 3. Things like that are so ridiculous and golden state warriors shit

lulz, at least they keep it interesting. really hope this HYG can suit up for Bruce next year. He will be needed.
