OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

Dear God. I’m ready to proclaim this the greatest Boog team I’ve ever witnessed. Most fun I’ve ever had watching Boog athletics. Still holding out on the unicorn ride to San Antonio but what a season it’s been. What a group. And of course the greatest Boog corch of all time in BRUCE.
If we made it to the final four and I was at all the games with my biggest Boog friends, I think I’d smile for the rest of the year.

Don’t share that in public bruh. I’m buying property in Bahamas. Delete that post.
@demeat lets get a drink in the next couple weeks. We live close to each other. You know Mike Jones in your neighborhood?

No. It is not against the rules

Would defeat the purpose of the greatest invention ever by Rivals - the search function

Obviously I was joking about part of my post, but didn’t they threaten to ban people who bumped old threads for a while?

I remember some posters thinking that, but it was not put in the updated rules and JGT actually stated it was not as well.

Remember when the mods thought the Boogs were gonna take that Peter Kiss character? Oh god. Dark days

Instead we wound up getting Samir Doughty, who I have to believe is infinitely better, and Dunbar who’s been a nice player.

Woof. Only mulato and dark skin beauties allowed on this club.

I don't know who that guy is but he nailed the coverage of that scrimmage. Sorry y'all, i haven't been on here all weekend. It was a rough weekend for your boy and I only saw about 5 minutes of the scrimmage but I think I got a good feel for our guys. It was overall pretty sloppy from what little I saw and heard afterwards. Just from seeing our guys on the floor at the same time it's almost as if we have too many great athletes out there at the same time. The speed we play at is crazy. I really feel we will keep getting better though, we just have to stay under control and value possessions better. I've heard all summer and fall that Ant will shoot and make 3's this year. I didn't see him shoot but if that is true that's a huge mismatch especially if Austin remains eligible. Having Ant be able to hit open shots outside as well as be the athlete he is down low and then having Austin come in who won't take a shot all year outside a few feet but pound the glass the way he does willbe tough for anyone to defend. Malik is a freak. He looks like a football player and plays like it too. He's a little hesitant right now I think because we have thrown a lot at him in a short time but once the game starts slowing down and he stops thinking and starts reacting he can be one of the bigger playmakers on the team. He will bring the house down at least once a game. Staph is Staph. He's gonna score a lot. Chuma may be the best overall player on the team. He can score from anywhere and makes everything look easy. Desean is a beast downlow. He uses his body perfectly with everything he does. Jared and Davion will complement each other perfectly. IMO, we are still shooting too many outside shots. Possibly because Austin is out right now but I still think this team can be dominant downlow and only shoot 3's when it's wide open besides maybe Staph and Bryce. Overall I feel really good about our depth and our team. If we can find a way to keep everyone healthy and eligible we can be scary good. We have just the right amount of skill and toughness to be a scary team.
Great breakdown from October 9th, Naughty

here's a lil PAM nugget
From a frustrated Pearl friend:

“I guess they are going to keep it up as long as we keep playing, but can someone please tell the truth, that nobody who was mentioned in the whole FBI mess has played or coached a second for Auburn this season and that it had nothing to do with recruiting? It’s really not fair.”

I need some context. Who is they and what are they keeping up? And what isn’t fair?

Jealous haters and deranged lunatics all over social media. They don't deal in facts like the Greg and the facts are neither Bruce nor any active players have been implicated in wrong doing. They want to tarnish our success when the reality is we are a shining light of over compliance as usual.

Which leads me to my next question, what was the motivation last year for the anti-compliance stuff, and why were they so adamant that the NCAA had cleared our players, when they clearly didn't?

He's a better defender. He was shooting 45% from 3. I love that zone we should go to it more. Mac's been excellent all year by any measure even with some struggles here and there. Chuma is just that talented. As Bruce said the only real problem here is depth cause we still have the pieces to beat pretty much anyone.

We're better with Mac available, but we might be better in some matchups with Chuma getting more of those minutes and Mac being used less. If we can go small with Chuma for extended stretches without it hurting us on the glass or post defense its the Pearl Death Lineup and we're going to go on some crazy runs. But there will be games that we see a need for Mac minutes due to matchup and foul problems. Not having him still sucks. I'm just more encouraged after seeing us play 3 half's without him and looking pretty damn good. Means it's not as much of a disaster as I had thought it might be.

It doesn't help when our freaking school president comments to reporters about Bruce needing to talk to him. That still might have been the biggest PR misstep I've seen in a long history of missteps at AU.

Have we discussed how much better Mitchell played? Him and Harper on the court at the same time was pretty exciting.

The anti compliance stuff is because the Wiley suspension was due to an internal investigation we did unrelated to the FBI situation. Most felt we looked too hard to find something after the FBI arrests.

The NCAA clearing our players was just a lie

Are there two different things happening right now? Wiley/FBI/Person and Wiley/staff sans-Person?

Yeah there were two different things. I don't know exact details but Wiley sitting out right now is for something not related to FBI/Person.

My personal opinion? Leath had the FBI show up in his office without him knowing anything about it and obviously wasn't pleased, wanted to talk to Pearl about it and when Pearl wouldn't comply, Leath decided to internally investigate for violations to see the exposure to the university.

I posted it somewhere earlier but

Jared
Davion
Bryce
Mustapha
Chuma

is like my wettest of wet dreams lineup for this Boog squad - and now we should get to see it

my concern isn’t getting beat up on the glass in any 1 particular game - it’s just too many minutes accumulating and getting dead legs and shooting like ass against a team we should beat

we’re gonna hit a wall at some point putting that much stress on 8 guys in high leverage games... but we’re gonna be amazing to watch when we’re Boogin full throttle until we reach that breaking point

Not bad, but Murray and Malik just seems to always produce. Also I think Spencer when not in foul trouble is very valuable.
