Boogs got a solid draw in that they are paired with the lowest seeded host team in NC State, but that also means it is paired with Florida for the super regional. Boogs are facing Northeastern who the boogs took 2 of 3 before SEC play started. This is also the series where Mize threw his no-hitter. Butch is going to be faced with some tough decisions, because Northeastern's Ace pitcher had a no-no going against us through the 8th and gave the boogs their first loss of the season in a 2-1 game. Sounds like he is contemplating holding off on throwing Mize because NC State has a stud lefty. Anyway praise be to Butch for getting us into back to back regionals after the no-talent Golloway left the cupboard dry.

Other than the fact that Mellen pitched well against us in March, I really like the matchup with Northeastern. They’re a solid team, but I think we’re better in all three areas. They have a .273 batting average and a 4.90 ERA as a staff. Their ERA dropped to 2.95 in conference and their BA went up to .291. Really makes me think we can throw Burns or Mitchell and win, but we’d need a strong start from one of them.
