OT: Friday night lights

Not sure how many here keep up with the high school huthut, but my Mini Boogs are 3-0 & I’m about to take in another game tonight. I can hear the band & PA from my screen porch & I have had parking spot #2 for I don’t know how long. Season tickets are on the 49/50 & I’m on the second row from the top. I can leave my home at 6:45 & be seated before the squad takes the field at 6:56. And allow me to add, my 4-A team is 10th in all time in wins & that’s for ALL classifications. Maybe I’ll root for two maroon & white Aggies this weekend that also has a share the same fight song.

My Minies tied 7-7 at intermission & it’s homecoming. Wife & I at least have that in common. I thought about asking her to don her old majorette outfit, but I’ve been on the road since Monday morning & might need a little homecoming kiss before the evening is finished. One of my best friends is about to walk the grass with his 3rd & final daughter to be crowned as QUEEN. Crazy that his Mom was HC Queen as well.
NOW back to huthut & need to dropping the sphere on the turf. Killing us.

Saw a score earlier that was 71-18 in the 2nd quarter. Apparently the team that was winning has adopted @NASCAR Dawg three kneels and punt strategy in the 2nd half. Seriously.

MY Aggies scored with 6 seconds left on the clock to go up 14-7. Then the Yeller Jackets pulled a CAL-Stanford and used about a half dozen laterals, one of which I thought they would score. Crazy great game to only be 14-7. Next week we play the Winfield CITY school guys & our hated rival. Should be 5-0 by the time the County Seat boys kick at ass (they were undefeated last year in regular season).

The Thompson coach was bitching out the Thompson Video crew at the half because apparently the feed to the booth was malfunctioning. Up 30 points at that point and coach is looking to scalp someone because it could have should have been more in his opinion. Crazy just crazy

Minis have sprang back up & sitting at 7-1 by defeating the #3 squad in the state a couple weeks ago. They KO against the #1 club in two minutes, so I wanted to get this in before they get GUSSED & it’s coming.

0-49 TRUCKED like I figured. Oh well, he have one of our two biggest rivals coming up Friday & we've beaten them like every game since 1977 except maybe nine times & we host the first round of the playoffs & have already way over achieved.

Oh & in 1914 my Minis played our Boogs & lost 60-0 as like West Alabama Ag School or something. I was pretty torn so I wore a Mini shirt & sat on the Boogs side.

The Hamilton MIGHTY MIGHTY Aggies. Heard we had 14 quarantined, then QB1 AND QB2 went down PLUS our other top two playmakers. We go down 7-0 & have pretty much no offense & finally tie it late in the 3rd for a couple minutes. Then down 14-7 QB3 breaks loose for 75 yarder to tie it. With about 40 seconds left in the game we chunk a Hail Mary to the 1 YL & score with 25 seconds left to win 21-14.

OT, but first cuz 12 YO stud QB, just lit em up for 181 passing yards at half with 8 minute quarters sporting that CAM #2. 60 yard TD run on first play from scrimmage & 65 yard bomb on 2nd offensive play. Went up 22-0, they moved him to WR & he made a circus catch. 3 TDS passing & two conversations & ran for another, all the while head hunting. Shut the scoreboard down at 36-8 & ran clock continuously the 2nd half. One offensive play the 2nd half & caught a 60 TD pass.
As great as he is at huthut, trying to push him to Butch or BRUCE & here is one of four homers he hit in Cullman on a Sunday

Minis got blitz last night, but young cuz sitting on 202 yards passing including 4 for TDS & a 35 yard scamper for a fifth in the first half. 36-8 & he’s done by 24 point rule. Shut the scoreboard down & continuous clock mercy rule.

Gonna admit that I conceded the game and turned it off when I saw AU in the victory formation. Was looking for the news to start and in comes the text. We Won!!!
I thought this poor simpleton must be watching last year’s game. I do a quick google and hot damn we had won. I was like WTF. Our QB went out in the 2nd qtr and the backup had more completions to the competition than to our guys. There should have been no way in hell to win this game. Then I read the play by play and I felt super bad for those kids at AU. I was happy for our kids but to have a game slip through your fingers because you chose the one and only set of events to literally throw away the state championship. Go Warriors but God bless you Tiny Tim (AU).

The number of coaching mistakes by the Auburn High coaches is almost hard to believe.

1. If you aren’t going to kneel it on 4th down, you run the ball. Which had been their strength all night.

2. You shouldn’t punt it anyway. 28 seconds left on 4th down against a backup QB. Take another knee.

3. If you do decide to punt, you have to punt out of your max protection look. They went from a semi-spread look. Even motioned into it.

4. Onside kick formation looked like they were out-formationed.
