Hopefully Arkie will be paying. I mean if we have actually learned anything and tell Gus he has a contract and he can walk if Arkie is willing to pay. They will have to pay a decent buyout for Bert and throw in Gus' buyout and pay Gus' salary. Plus Bert's assistants and hire new assistants who know Gus' penchant for overstepping. I would call Sexton's bluff in a New York Minute.
Plus whatever entails hiring a new AD.
Biggest issue for AU is it prob won't happen until Jan. 1 because that is when Bert's contract will reduce if memory serves.

He’ll get a raise if AU beats Bama, he’ll bolt to Arkansas if he loses. Maybe he’ll bolt either way. I could easily see it happening
He’s already bolted from AU to an Arkansas school before for less money. I really really think he wants that Arkansas job and he knows this will be the only chance in his life to get it. It really won’t surprise me if he ditches AU for Arkansas even if we miraculously make the playoffs

If he loses to bama and you decide you want to keep him bc the market for hiring sucks you offer him an extension for recruiting purposes only. You may offer a bump in pay to avoid increasing the buyout and I’d be fine with that.

I didn't realize until yesterday that if Gus leaves on his own and the assistants are not retained (nor do they go to Arky/wherever) with him, he has to pay their contracts.
USA coach salary index said like 6 mill as of 12/1/17 What are the other expenses? Supplemental Coaching Contracts?
4 for their AD. 8 ish for Bert. Then 6 for Zan. It’d be expensive but I’m not sure they care at this point. I don’t think they’re canning their AD and HC to hire some scrubs
