Our only hope is that Cal Ashley is the truth and can start at LT with Tega playing RT. We’re Gaurd U so hopefully we can just plug n play there. Center will more than likely be a problem.

Defensive backs will be ass behind the starters. If Daniel Thomas starts we’re fvcked. Kid is terrible. Peters may be special before his career is over. Safety will be thin and a problem. May need some incoming freshman to step in and be ready.

Need to land that Va Tech (I think) grad transfer RB.

I may be in the minority here, but I wouldn’t be that upset if Stidham threw up the deuces and declared. I want Malik running the 2013 offense. Even though it’d be impossible to see that hellacious play while breaking in 4 starters on the offensive line.

We’re gonna lose 5 games next year.

I actually like Thomas at Safety, he just isn’t very good at Nickel.

Also, I think Brahm is a future star at center (or guard). Word is Hamm has looked incredible.

I told a buddy of mine I’m fine either way on Stidham. If he comes back, we have our returning start back and can make a lot of throws. But he can’t extend a play with his feet and aim ready to get back to that. But if he leaves, we have to find a JUCO or grad transfer, even if they dont win the job.

Really happy for Holland, Pettway, Johnson and Davis.

Get out from under the derpage of Malzahn and actually get some real corching.

Congrats, guys. Absolutely the best decision you could’ve made for your futures.

Glad Pettway doesn’t have to put up with Auburn’s (or Malzahn’s) bullshit anymore.

well, the tweet specifically says that he's hired as the "10th assistant." I guess Crepea could easily be wrong, but it doesn't sound like he's replacing Greg
I get that. Simply asking if Gus was going to address a weak link or continue the suicide by athousand paper cuts.

I just imagine that Gus knew he had to hire a 10th Coach. He looked over his crew of yes men on the offensive side of the ball and said I’m good on this end. He then asked Kevin if he had anyone in mind for that side and they decided on this guy. Since it was more than likely a KS decision, I not worried. Just hope he is connected to bagmen and is not as dumb as Chuckie P.

Supposedly, this is a potential superstar in recruiting and was wanted by many. Had two other offers on table, both MS schools and reached out to by several, including Kirby.

I'm beginning to think that KJ is gonna actually be pretty damn good in the league just because of how teams use the RBs in the passing game so much. Kamara and McCaffery both had like 80 catches this year as rookies. I could see KJ doing something similar since his hands are so good.

Yep. Again, i get that. Just curious if this was the only move or the first domino.

You know how bama came out in the 2nd half and drove right down the field on us and scored a TD? It was because Matthews got dinged up and Thomas came in at Safety. The last two runs of that drive were right at him. I really don't think we will be very good with him at Safety.

Yea, the other 10 guys on defense had nothing to do with it.

KJ is gonna be too slow and injury prone to have a meaningful impact at the next level, imo.
I think he's gonna be great catching passes out of the backfield, and, when healthy, he's got plenty of speed. When healthy is a big asterisk though obviously.

I'm saying he missed his run fits on two consecutive plays that gave up a TD at Safety. I'm not that hopeful.

That is cool. We don't have to agree.

I don't think he will some type of superstar, but I think he can be another Tray Matthews for us.

Too many Boogs that claim to be boycotting the NFL have become NFL draft experts over there
It's sort of a weird transition for some homers. They have all the confidence in the world that AU can beat and should beat bama and UGA, but when players declare for the draft, some of them scoff and act like they're not good enough. Can't have it both ways.

I'm expecting Dinson and Peters to be the safeties. Dean to take over for Carlton Davis. Javaris Davis at nickle, and ??????? at the other corner position.

Where did this idea that Matthews has been anything less than one of the best safeties we have ever had come from?
I have never really liked trey's play but I am thankful for what he did for Auburn. Dude looks the part almost as Frost did.

I think Mathews was a very good players for us, but he was always a liability in the passing game. I don't view him as one of the best ever (or close to it).

But that doesn't mean he wasn't a good player. He was.

Name 3 Auburn safeties better than him.

He's a boundary safety all day every day and a top level college one. Not sure how well it will transfer to the NFL where both safeties have to play a lot of man, but he is a very good college safety. Honestly, Stephen Roberts is the only guy who I think has been a consistently better safety at AU as long as I can remember watching AU football. Rosegreen always gets a lot of credit for knocking Reggie out, but honestly he was a slightly above average college safety. I take great offense to you mentioning Tray Matthews and Kris Frost in the same sentence.

You serious?

Three easily would be Rosegreen, Shelling, Robinson. Not much to debate.

But I would put Zac Etheridge and Ford above Trigga fi we are just talking about more recent.

Edit: Roberts was the best safety on the team this year.

I thought Tray and Roberts were both really solid. Not sure where I'd rank them amongst great boog safeties other than both significantly better than who's projected to replace them next year.

It is dead wrong but his time at AU will be remembered by me in two plays.

Blake Countess, Jermaine Whitehead, and Rudy Ford are all on NFL rosters as safeties. Josh Holsey played safety at AU too and is in the league. Therezie was in the league too. Does Tray have a career in the league? I have no idea.
I already addressed Rosegreen. If not for Reggie and the Tennessee games, people would remember him much differently. He had trouble getting NFL tryouts because his film was so bad.

Some of you are confusing nickel and safety. Rudy Ford was a really good nickel who also played a little safety. Whitehead is an interesting name because I was mad he got put in the dog house because I thought he could be really good. Did he have any seasons as good as Tray's was this year? No. Therezie is another guy who basically only had success at AU as a nickel. Holsey's best two seasons were at Auburn were at corner, I don't think there is any doubt about that.

Blake Countess might be a solid option. It seems he came to Auburn to play corner, but we moved him and it has apparently stuck. I remember him being out of position some, but I also remember thinking by the end of the year that he was playing pretty well.

I remember Shelling more as a corner, but I see on his bio he played safety at Auburn as well. I was 10 so I don't really remember, but I think his best time at AU was as a corner. Brian Robinson is a solid option, I know he had a great career at AU around the same time as Shelling and I believe he was an actual full time safety.

El OH ****ING EL at the idea Zac ****ing Etheredge was a better safety than Tray.

Clemson just had 2 first rd DLs decide to return for their senior year. Maybe, just maybe, it makes one of D Brown or Marlon return after their senior year since that 2019 DL class just got really deep. I’m not convinced Marlon is a lock 1st rounder anyways

We have been god awful at WR and DB damn near all my life in regards to the NFL.

I’d love to reverse that at some point
