I saw that she was still alive a few days ago. A quote from her saying how hard it was to bury your children. Lots of things went through my head, not all appropriate for the time. Very unusual situation.
Only thing that would make that better is if there was another video of him running up to his uncle and mom and frenching them.

I’m fine. I had a rough childhood due to alchemy so I promised myself to stop drinking when I had kids. I stayed true to that but today I celebrate how well I’ve done. lol.

I'm torn on the issue. I don't really believe Cap isn't playing because he took a knee, and I don't really agree with the point of the knee taking, but looking down on non-violent protest isn't American. It's the most appropriate way to protest in my eyes.
I think Nike is fuggin stupid just for the fact that previously their poster boys were guys like LeBron, Jordan, Tiger.
Cap might be doing a fine protest or whatever, but he's not a winner, he was being benched and took a shot in the dark for attention because of his skin color....
I'm not going to not buy jordans because they are good shoes, but I certainly don't exactly love the idea of being associated with losers like Cap.

I'm interested to see how it works for Nike. I think the two messages kind of co align so it makes sense. The backlash will wear off soon and then I expect a bunch of other top level Nike athletes to start supporting it. I don't think it was dumb at all since the day of "silent athletes" are gone now. Might as well start embracing their outspokenness because there's no way to contain it anyway.
I think it's great. Nike makes billions of dollars off of african american athletes and it's about time they support an issue that is clearly important to these athletes and the communities they are from. We'll likely see more companies pick social issues to support much like the not so subtle flag waving by telecom companies with veterans.
I respect the rights of companies to do as they please. If Nike wants to support this then good for them. If the baker wants to deny service for religious convictions then good for him. Freedom of conscience for business owners and customers is good for everyone.
I just wanna know where dems have to go from here on the drama scale. They've ratcheted this shit up to 100 for a solid two years. It's weird.

There might be some small uprisings and violence eventually but I can’t even fathom the logistics of how a civil war is even possible in the United States
Someone in the military capable of gaining control of a large portion of the weapons joining the rebelling side seems like the only plausible scenario to me.
People talk and people act. But 95% or greater of the population are ultimately apathetic. Zero chance anyone can organize a large enough group of peiple spread out over half the states to actually make something happen. There's nothing actually to fight about. Identity politics, abortion, or immigration isn't an essential part of anyone's economy like slavery was. There's just nothing to actually fight over except petty shit and that's it. Can't see anything serious happening. Just too dumb and just too logistically impossible.
I certainly wouldn't bet in favor of it happening. If I had to pick a topic, I would go with guns.
Something like dems push a law or rig an election that texas doesn't like enough. They could start a war and you'd have a lot of military guys backing it, idk though either but Rome had similar situations..I'm drunk and this is a tough topic to really dig down on though, how a civil war in a first world country would work in the 21st century....could make a good book.
Identity politics are not petty when the left talks about white men today like they talked about Jews in 1939. That's not a joke, and like it or not the circumstances and the rhetoric are very similar. All it takes is a bad economy, a few years of desperation, and a radical leader and guess what demographic is going to be blamed for all of it.
by the way, the plan was absolutely to disarm the population, that's been made abundantly clear by a media who was now clearly colluding with a specific political party and there was a plan to pack the courts and reintroduce legislation to reclassify weapons so as to make 2A essentially useless.
