I'm 99.999% certain those guys got paid to go there. I mean come on.Yes. Would be awesome to see something come out about John Petty and Colin Sexton

Clearly we're viewing this with Purple & Gold glasses, but where there is implied smoke, there is a program handing out cash.I'm 99.999% certain those guys got paid to go there. I mean come on.
Agree. The FBI wants to fine addidas a shit ton of money so they can fund their organization. It's always about money. It is an FBI issue because of the wire fraud, corruption, etc., but it is also due to the fact that Auburn disbursed scholarship and Title IV funds to the two players that were paid impermissible benefits... so therefore they were not eligible for those funds. Auburn University was defrauded out of those federal funds by Chuck when he knowingly caused athletes to receive university and/or federal funds that they were not entitled to. So since AU is receives federal endowment, this can technically fall under their purview. NCAA will come digging around now, but I am actually thinking that there are more than a couple outs that could at least be in play. We will play up the victim card hard, and we will try to use the plausible deniability defense if we can... so there is at least some hope for our boys and BRUCE.
FBI wants Adidas, not these coaches imo.
Yes. Would be awesome to see something come out about John Petty and Colin Sexton
No worries. One of our bball experts just said that if we only lose Wiley and Herron we still beat Bama twice this season. And here I was thinking they'd be tough to beat when we had erriebody playing!
I get your train of thought on Purifoy being the biggest loss, but I would still have to go with Wiley being a bigger loss. We have other wing type players that can knock down a shot (Heron/Dunbar) as well as other perimeter guys, but we have no real big boy basketball size without Austin. Danjel was too enamored with the 3 ball last year... but if he played the way we all envisioned and attacked the basket more often and played even some defense, then I would be inclined to actually agree.I mean - there’s no way to lose players and play things out in a vacuum without other guys being affected by the entire circumstance...
from a purely X’s and O’s perspective:
Sweet Jared/Young Davion
Bryce
Mustapha
Okeke
Mac
is a competitive starting 5
it leaves us very thin in the front court and susceptible to true size... the biggest loss is Purifoy’s shooting and floor spacing though
we just won’t have enough shooting or rebounding to be where we hoped to be, but we’ll still have 9 quality guys to throw out there
unfortunately, I see no way this isn’t a huge distraction... so no way to even attempt to forecast how everyone reacts

Good question. Haven't heard anything regarding anyone being able to recruit in his place or a possible replacement as of yet. I guess we are letting the dust settle for now.How long will OBBERN ride the suspended tag on Chuck? Will they go into the season down an assistant?
Does BRUCE go out and hire a stud or does he promote Baby Pearl Can someone recruit in Chuck's place on the road right now?
Inquiring minds want to know.
So it's for sure Wiley and Purifoy? Or is it Wiley and Heron?
Where people want to point out that Person was possibly forced on Bruce... I'd say that it was more likely a compromise. Bruce was able to hire his progeny so long as he also hired Chuck.
Fug it bring back TONY JONES.
I always thought he'd been nudged out so that Chuck could be the clear top assistant but there could have been something else to it.Why did he leave, other than to maybe get back closer to home?
Feeling like BRUCE is gonna make it gang (knock on wood).Pretty detailed breakdown:

1) good grief Chuck Person
2) FBI seems to think he was acting alone and no one else was involved
3) Leath speaks (a little)
"We haven't broken any rules but this is the only guy that was involved"
Not the first or second time they've quickly booted some staffer or assistant and then claimed an internal investigation found no issues at all."We haven't broken any rules but this is the only guy that was involved"
Makes sense
It's such a lame statement. Not the first or second time they've quickly booted some staffer or assistant and then claimed an internal investigation found no issues at all.
Sure they are just forcing resignations because people were abusing cafeteria privileges.
Yesterday sucked but today has been a good day.will Chuck bring down BAMA too? the BAMA admin who was fired met with Chuck, the agent rep, and Collin Sexton’s dad?
I know college basketball is dirty and incestuous - but Chuck was helping facilitate meetings with BAMA admins too?
was this part already known:
Although Baker was not charged with a crime in the recent FBI roundup of figures allegedly connected with corruption in college basketball, UA acted in the belief that he was involved in a meeting with Atlanta-based advisor Rashan Michel and Auburn assistant coach Chuck Person, who were arrested on Tuesday as part of an FBI sting operation.
According to the charges released yesterday by the United States Attorney Office in the Southern District of New York, Michel and Person met with an unidentified “school administrator” who accepted a $5,000 payment and arranged an August meeting with the “father of a highly regarded incoming freshman” from the Atlanta area, along with Michel and a cooperating federal witness listed as CW-1.

Yesterday sucked but today has been a good day.
reading back through the ESPN article, this part sticks out:
Blazer paid Michel tens of thousands of dollars from January 2017 to about September, according to the FBI, and Michel helped facilitate the payment of $25,000 to an unidentified staff member of another school. The staff member received $5,000 during an initial meeting and an additional $20,000 in later meetings in New York and Atlanta.
$5k - ding
Atlanta - ding
unidentified staff member - ding
This is awesome!
Would person go from a$$hat to hero if somehow it ended up that the players involved were bama players and not boog players? I know this isn't possible but that would be hilarious.from the TideSports link, the cooperating witness was at the meeting with the BAMA admin and Sexton’s dad - so I’m assuming there’s video and audio of that meeting...
I haven’t read enough to know why some corches were arrested and some weren’t... could be something to do with how much proof they have that money went to players or their families? who knows... or could be that Chuck is a special breed of dumbass who is on tape doing something above and beyond what we already know about...
the good thing is, if ADIDAS and NIKE are the targets - and if the feds are already taking computers and evidence from Nike affiliated guys - this has only just begun...
my hope is that the entire thing is burned to the ground - NCAA included
I know someone that knows them, so count me in as wellAccording to a random post on the net the Wileys deny receiving any money. I choose to believe it!
