Gang, didn't get to watch much of this one live at all as Vegas debauchery distracted me.
Made myself sit down and watch it through the ESPN app last night. We didn't play that well, didn't shoot well and still beat UK by 10. I continue to be amazed by this team. They are both talented and gritty as hell. The philosophy of letting them take some bad shots without crushing them has really started to work for us. Our guys just stay so damn confident and they keep letting it rip till they start dropping. A lot of coaches get on guys for bad shots to a level that you start pressing after any miss, even open ones. Our free flowing style means guys stay confident and don't get inside their own heads too much IMO. Bruce pushes like hell on stuff like bad passes, not moving on offense and other dumb or lazy mistakes but he's not going to complain about shot selection very often and that is leading to our guys feeling good even if they are 0-5 and struggling.
The 2 things we have that UK doesn't....real shooters and desire. We have too many guys that can hit 3's and multiple guys who can get hot and just crush your soul by nailing tough, contested 3's over and over when they feel it. And we fight like hell. The body language of UK reminded of Dunnans and crew last year. Just so bad. You don't see that from our studs now. They grind, they push, they keep shooting and if you don't match their effort you get swallowed by it.
