@cookedw - if you aren’t bumping all the Bruce hate on tbb then we can’t be friends

Yesterday I told him the following:

“I am talking the big dance. If we want to win tomorrow need to get other folks going early. The half time stats were Jared dominating (which is awesome) but nothing from anyone else sans J’Von. I am just hoping Jared gets more help early tomorrow. Jared is in the zone right now, just calling for a lil help, home cheese.”

@cookedw gave me an “LOL”.

You can't be this stupid, can you? You really don't understand why I lol'd at this?

You make rice look intelligent

How about when Chuma took over in he second half and started dropping bombs. Was like I was watching Hoosiers when their badass took over late in the movie.

I don't really care right now. Ho Daddy is playing like a boss and Austin is giving real quality minutes protecting the rim and rebounding. Throw in Chuma bossing it and Danjel starting to man up and we're all set with Mac being a puss for now

Wiley sitting made him better! It is crazy. Loved his effort.

He’s about to be what we used to say about Wiley - just a body to give us five fouls. Wiley’s resurgence is awesome. Hoping for a Friday matchup so he can rest more

Legit we should be a 2 seed. I would be happy with a 3 seed. Likely a 4 seed

Y’all what’s crazy is we can play like this with regularity. Austin looked really good. Didn’t secure everything but kept some boards alive for Chuma to gobble up. 37% from 3 they were 53%. Got their token hook and hold call.

We force TOs and rebound like this omg we cutting more nets. 30 from the bench everybody ballin. Well except maybe Mac but Bruce and Steve will get him right this week.

Special shoutout to Danjel he blossomed this week and balled tf out today.

Alright. What do we gotta do to get Mac right?

my Boog brethren have covered it, but AUSTIN has looked better the last 2 days than he has in 24 months... he’s quick and explosive challenging shots, moving his feet and not reaching/cheating on the perimeter because he’s trusting his legs, grabbing boards with 2 hands, and gathering and exploding towards the rim anytime he’s in the paint

if we get that Austin for 3 weeks, we’re going to Minny, and it doesn’t matter if we only get 8 mediocre minutes a night from Mac

Danjel with 10pts 2 rebs 1 assist and 2 steals and ZERO turnovers. The young man is turning the corner hard
Did it all today. Shot with confidence got on the glass took it to the rack and played solid D.

His whole halfass closeouts and clumsiness on the boards was still rankling me until today but put it together more and more with each game this week.

I can't do this one justice. This was an effort for the ages to play our 4th game in 4 days and absolutely dismantle UT in front of a 90% UT crowd with the SEC title on the line. UT had everything imaginable going for them today and our guys refused to back down. Shots weren't falling for us early so we turned up the intensity on D to an unimaginable level. UT couldn't even get a shot up for long stretches because we were taking it away from them with such ferocity. Jared to the bench early with 2 fouls? No problem. Next man up and J'von ran the point like a vet.

My first highlight players is J'von. He didn't lead us in scoring, but the way he played in the first half is one of the biggest single reason for this W. Jared going out with 2 fouls could have been a killer. Instead, J'von came on and played incredibly well. 5 points, 4 assists to only one TO, a steal and 2 boards. He has been a great role player all year for us and today he stepped up and played a critical role in one of the biggest victories in Auburn basketball history.

Bryce has to be the tournament MVP after his 19 point effort today. (typed this before he won!) 5/10 from 3 point range, 19 points, 2 steals and 2 assists. The greatest 3 pt shooter in Auburn history delivered for us in the biggest way possible. 18 3 pointers in 4 days to shoot us to the title. He now stands 7 3s away from #2 all time in SEC history. Words can't express what Bryce has meant to this program. We were nothing when he got here and now we have 2 SEC titles thank in large part to his development into a legendary shooter.

Chuma was a monster today. After scuffling some the last two days, he delivered another massive double double with 18 points, 5/9 from deep, 13 boards, 3 steals and a block. Just an incredible effort by Chuma and a well deserved spot on the all tournament team.

Danjel with his first double digit scoring performance of the year in the biggest game. 10 points on 2/3 from deep with a couple of steals was a huge contribution. His 3 in the second half when they were trying to mount a run was very big in keeping us in complete control. Incredible to see him hang in when things looked bleak for him in January and become one of our key bench guys down the stretch.

Jared missed nearly the entire first half. Came on after the half and stayed out of foul trouble and played great to help build the lead and maintain it. Cold shooting day, but still delivered 9 points and more importantly 6 assists and only two TOs despite being under immense pressure.

Malik bounced back after a rough one yesterday with 8 points and 6 boards. We are so much better as a team when Malik is playing well. His energy is infectious and drives our other guys to play their best.

Austin was a big factor today. He gave us great minutes and was a huge presence on defense and the glass. Had a nice 3 point play when we needed it to bury them. 3 boards (2 offensive), 2 blocks and a steal. Having him back healthy is huge. He will be a very important factor for us in the NCAAT.

As a team, so many great stats. 17 TOs off 14 steals and 21 points off those takeaways. Won the turnover battle 17-7. Only losing the rebounding margin 26-28 was a huge factor today after they out-rebounded us by a huge margin at home. More importantly, we won the offensive rebounding battle 13-4. That is incredible against a team like UT with such a size advantage over us.

This is a program defining win. Bruce now has a regular season title and a tournament title to sell on the recruiting trail. Lots of people discounted our regular season title last year because of the way we finished the season. Any question about Bruce's ability as a tactician and tournament coach should now be erased. The job he did over the last 4 days has been other worldly. We took the best shot Mizzou, USCe, and UF had to offer and beat all 3. We destroyed UT in front of their home crowd after beating them 8 days earlier. We took a 1 seed away from them and 2 SEC titles. This was an incredible accomplishment.

8 wins in a row since February 27th. This team deserves a 3 seed for this run, but more likely we will end up on the 4 line. All of the 1 seeds have to be hoping they do not end up in our region as we are the hottest team in the country. No one wants to see us over the next few weeks. This team is ready to go on a run through the 2nd weekend. With the way we are playing, there isn't a team in the country we can't beat. This team can carry this run all the way to Minneapolis. Strap in, we're just getting started. WAR DAMN MARCH MADNESS!

Chuma's stat line was absolutely ridiculous today. 18 pts and 13 boards. Throw in some steals and blocks too. Forcing turovers on that overrated oaf Grant Williams and raining threes on his terrible perimeter defense. Two games in a row, and the young man has outclassed the SEC poty by a wide margin

He just keeps getting better and more confident. But not to the point of forcing things like JH and BB, and most every other really good basketball players does, when they get it going. His demeanor reminds me of an oulde, Alex English. A scoring machine who never looked selfish and never looked stressed . I would love for him to come back next year but he’s going to be a big time scorer in the NBA and night as well get started on contract two. I didn’t believe that two months ago.

Well, I loved every single word in this magnificent post!
