OT: AUBURN BASKETBALL

Really want to see him use those moves and get to the rim/free throw line more this season. At the end of last season, he kind of developed Danjel disease and just kept jacking threes.

Yeah he’s got so much all around game. Psyched to see his transformation from doughy 18 year old to chiseled freak of a 19 year old. I think we’ll use him a lot better this year as a vet that’s gonna get close to 30 mpg.

Wonder how much he’s getting paid? Hard to figure, but I’d go over there and play ball for as long as they’d have me for 100k plus bennies and a cell phone
Little research suggests that the league has a 1.1 million dollar salary cap. So I guess it depends if hes one of their premier players or not, but he could be making 6 figures

Just got hot in here gents.

I am a fan of Pearl, and I think he is a great coach, but I don't get the "he is so much better than Malzhan" thing. Pearl is 70-62 overall and 29-43 in the SEC in 4 years. He has 2 winning seasons out of 4, has been to the postseason once, and lost to a lower seed in the 2nd round. There are plenty of reasons for his struggles, but Gus has won the division twice, had a winning record every year (admittedly disappointing records 2 or 3 of his 5 years) and took over a team that was probably the worst Auburn football team I have seen in my life (I only remember back to the early 80's, but 2012 was the worst Auburn team I can ever remember).

Pearl is certainly improving every year, but it has been a slow ride, and we are talking about giving him a huge salary bump based on one season here. Seems like that falls right into what people are saying about Gus. Maybe see if Bruce can follow up the SEC Title season with a nice NCAA tournament team the next year before giving him the farm. Just a thought!

I really do hate 90% of our own fanbase.

That actually makes a lot of sense if you completely disregard the fact Auburn is a top 15 or so football program of all time and arguably bottom 10 Power 5 college basketball program

what does this mean? Was this expected? are any of the other coaches Bruce was recruiting back in play now?

Sounds expected
Yeah. I remember that he took some time off or something because his mom was sick. Sadly, it sounds like she hasn't gotten better. Wonder though if this was totally expected? Otherwise, you'd think it'd have happened right at the end of the season.

Gang I’d like to address some rumblings from the internet regarding Adam Harrington and whether or not Boog U could afford him. The answer is a resounding yes. Pay the man top 10 cbb assistant/ Kodi Burns money if he’s the guy. He’s had his picture taken with the likes of Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook and Dirk Nowitzki for God sakes.

Heard that Harrington wasn’t really keen on recruiting. He apparently was really conflicted about the job and almost took it but ultimately decided to pass on it because of the recruiting aspect.

Well I can respect the hell out of that. Makes me wish we could get him even more. You know you can corch when you don’t have to rely on your ability to suck up to children to make a living.

Huh. Transfer. Whatever.

with Austin back, Stapha leaving frees up minutes and shots and the pieces fit together better

sucks that’s the way it worked out, and I’ll be forever grateful to Stapha for getting this ball rolling...

I’ll also be forever grateful I never have to see another pull-up 19.5 footer

i wonder what this is more about: 1) getting time at 1 or 2 to round out his game; 2)Doesn't feel like this staff can prepare him further; or 3) chemistry beef with the team and ready to move on?

So the dude who was on a 2 year plan is now going to go to a shitty small school and play or sit out a year? Color me skeptical.

Guessing if he transfers, he goes to play for Hurley at UConn. Seems completely counter to everything his camp has said about his college experience. Maybe he got some advice about how important college is to his future.
