Just out of morbid curiosity, why do YOU think Bruce announced that Tony Jones and Steven Pearl would be part of the staff in March during his hiring presser? Then chose to lie to all of AU, and the national media as well, and set up fake interviews with Chuck and others during the Big Dance and announce him three weeks or so later?

I think he was told to hire Chuck and I think it’s a narrative we should push anyway. Was he told you have to hire Chuck or we aren’t gonna hire you as HC? I’m guessing it didn’t really come to that but he’d have not been hired by BRUCE at any other school.

All things being equal, Chuck was a legendary AU player and a very fine NBA player and he did coach under Phil Jackson etc. So on paper it wasn’t a “terrible” idea.
