I don’t hate Chuck for playing the game. We needed our studs to have agent and NBA connex.
I hate him for being an idiot

My posting history is there to search. For someone who posts as often as you do and is as outspoken as you are, I’m pretty shocked me or nobody else remembers you bashing Chuck and the hire. Until after the fact of course. Lots of people did the morning the news became public knowledge.

Word. I’m certainly in favor of distancing him as far from BRUCE as possible and aligning him with our recently ousted AD if any Boog needs to be held responsible. As long as we can all agree that Chuck is a scalawag and Bruce is a saint, I’m cool. Really doesn’t make a hill of beans who made the decision to hire him at this point.
Yeah I’m with you there. Just don’t think it matters much other than public perception at this point. And that doesn’t even matter a whole lot because Bruce will always have his haters because being a fuggin stud generates them regardless.Word. Fuggin ridiculous but I 100% believe it cause this is Boog U.Based on what the people I know who know things about AU MBB, Pearl wanted to bring Tony Jones, Steven, and someone else (can’t remember). He had no prior relationship with Chuck and didn’t want to sacrifice who he wanted for someone he didn’t know. Our AD (compliance) was adiment that Tony Jones would not be a part of Bruce’s staff. But Bruce said he wasn’t coming without Tony. So, the AD compromised and let Tony come but Chuck had to be brought on board as well. Bruce reluctantly agreed. After the hires were made, the AD pushed Bruce to let Tony go at the end of the first season. They thought he was too big of a risk. Bruce pushed back. The AD started watching Tony very closely trying to nail him for anything. Well, some recruits came to visit campus for a weekend. One of the recruits didn’t come prepared for cold weather and the temps dropped significantly. Tony bought the kid an Auburn Sweatshirt hoodie from the team store in the arena. The AD found out and pushed Tony out because that was a “blatant recruiting violation.” TIFWIW
BTA? Ha! Just a drunk that acts like an insider. A true insider doesn't go on message boards posting info imnsho.

That is an overreaction. 98% of the tbb liked it because they don’t know anything about basketball. Everything else I agree with what you said.LOL. No.
We’ve done it in football for a long time. People in power with money like to pull the strings so they feel involved. Same with owners in the NFL and politics.I don’t understand why the public’s reaction is even relevant. Who cares? If he was forced on to Bruce then it was a really dumb and arrogant move by Jacobs regardless of what his AU supportering base thought. You’re immediately undermining your trust in a coach that you just hired by forcing assistants on to him. That’s just dumb
Bruce is an ok person that is a salesman. You want to have the Bruce type if you want to win. All top coaches in college that are winning HCs are hypocritical POS imo. I could go in depth on the recruiting game, but I’d rather not. Portrayed saints as coach K and coach wooden are far from saints, and would be naive to think otherwise. Go Bruce! As long as we can all agree that Chuck is a scalawag and Bruce is a saint, I’m cool. Really doesn’t make a hill of beans who made the decision to hire him at this point.

He’s a successful guy that donates at a high level. He hears solid information, but to call him a drunk is out of line.BTA? Ha! Just a drunk that acts like an insider. A true insider doesn't go on message boards posting info imnsho.

That’s where he landed, but not because he wanted to. He had no intentions of leaving Auburn but was “highly encouraged” to find a job elsewhere. So he did.I thought he left to coach professional bball in Canada with his brother and Tony became the interim HC when his brother(Bill) was suspended for a brawl for 20 games. From my understanding he left to coach with his brother.

He’s incorrect, but not by enough to matter if Gus doesn’t make it through the end of his contract.I honestly don’t care but this is the only thing I care about in boog athletics and its the first time anyone, real or fake, has put a number down on the buyout.
