OT: Roy Moore Campaign Rally

I'm just gonna say this. I'm an older guy, but never will be at heart, don't look like one & ain't never gonna grow up. I don't have to quit rock & roll, or anything else I've loved all my life, even though my wife pretends like she wants me too.
With that said, even though I lean to the right, I vote my pocket book & Christisn religion until it comes to something like this. That POS Roy Moore would not have gotten my support even before all this crap that has come out. He has used the God I know to further his Earthley endeavors & is the biggest hypocrite that I've ever personally met in person.

If that dude is a Christian, he needs to quit using Jewish Law to bring glory to himself & use it for personal gain. The Ten Commandments do NOT need to be in display in a public venue where people that don't have the same or any religious beliefs have to see them, especially tax payers. This Roy Moore stuff didn't just start with me the last couple of years either. Dude is downright evil, and I knew it the first time I shook his hand & looked into his black eyes.

Sorry guys. TL;DR, but I posted this on a cell phone with 58 year old eyes without glasses.
And YES IM MAD. Bunch of idiots taking up for him

And you & I are right in the MIDDLE of these rural hicks that will do just that. But maybe NOT. Embarrassing to the entire Country IMO

We are so embarrassing and I am so sick of this redneck azz mentality that dominates my state. We look like the biggest losers. I don’t care if Moore is innocent, he is a freaking loon. Jeff Sessions is also a joke.

The whole thing is mind blowing. You've got 9 - think about that - NINE women saying he sexually harassed them, and yet you've got old white guys and old white women defending him and using the name of God to do so.
If this was a white man of a lower socioeconomic standing or ANY man of color or a different religious affiliation these same people would have had him castrated and his balls hung from a flagpole as an example of what happens to a predator in their state.
If any of these people make it into heaven, there's no doubt I'm in with a seat on the front row.

Something tells me his supporters did not give Bill Cosby the same treatment when the allegations first came out.

Actually, the opposite is true. You forget Cosby was going around speaking about how black people need to get it together and was being very friendly with the Republicans. So these people were defending him for a while....until it was just too many who came out,

Thank you for the reminder, so their cereal defenders?

Well I hoped Cosby was innocent cause he really has a rare talent, and seemed like a good dude, until the whole rapey-by-pilly thing.

The only thing I can imagine with defending Moore is that they just want a republican to win, or they really care about abortion and thus would vote for Bin Laden over Pro choice Doug Jones. (That’s only if Bin Laden was pro life of course.)

I don't agree with, but I at least have a little respect for, the folks who will just admit that's what it's about to them. Defending the guy is morally reprehensible though, at least in my book.

I haven't had a meeting in the last 2 weeks with people outside the south that didn't immediately ask me about this topic. Was in LA and NYC last week and everyone that knows where I lived wanted to discuss. Was on the phone with Starbucks folks setting up a meeting up there for December and 90% of the call was the 3 ladies on the other end of the phone asking me how on earth Roy Moore even won the GOP nomination, let alone how he might win the general despite an avalanche of stories on top of his already absurd behavior.

I need this to end for my professional sanity. I can't answer for Roy freaking Moore every day.

We had friends visit over the weekend who live in the Asheville, NC area and they brought it up saying it was all the talk up there as well. Bumfuggery.

Going through the same thing. Two separate meetings I had people bring up the Joseph and Mary defense and just overall astonishment at the cognitive dissonance on display. Nationally, people seem to be watching the state like it's reality TV.

One meeting in particular veered completely off-track and ended up focused on the Moore situation for a good 20m, including an admittedly hilarious episode when a couple people invoked skepticism over an elected official using Joseph and Mary from the Bible as a serious, non-ironic, defense of Moore's behavior. After the initial assertion, these two women look at me for confirmation and I nodded (in shame) indicating it was true, they take control of the conference room flat screen to Google it and a few clicks later we had the following photo of Alabama State Auditor, Jim Ziegler, full screen.

It was like a luls bomb dropped. The room was rolling.

Living in LA is so weird. It has to be the biggest transplant city in the country besides maybe nyc but it’s the most hypocritically ignorant liberal place on earth. You’d that with so many different people with so many different backgrounds there that it’d foster a little bit of a moderate view on things, but it’s totally the opposite. Lost one friend over the election bc he was just a maniac

Lol oh my goodness.

Just wait until the 0:55 mark. I'm going to try to set that as my ringtone.

Also, the "Allllright, well sometimes that happens" is absolute gold.

I am sitting here laughing hard right now. I (and maybe some of you as well) know people and may even be related to a few who could have been the guy yelling in the background. Need to ask around when we go visit relatives for the holiday this weekend. :)

Veritas is trash. I do think some media sources have bias, but what this group does undermines the free press as much or more than the people they think are doing the same.

The funny part to me is how often they prove the things they believe were happening are in fact not happening. Like they were so sure you could just make up anything, have no background or follow up and get it printed if you came from an angle that hurt the right. However in the end they actually make the WaPo more credible because they proved the opposite. And it's not the first time they've done that either.

Media has problems and biases and it's far from perfect. But we've gotten well overboard with media blame now...be it sports or politics or whatever. Blaming the media has become the easy crutch used to the point that I've seen corporations blame the media for their stock doing poorly when I can see about 40 mistakes upper management has made. And freaking Butch Jones will go to his deathbed convinced local media in Knoxville was responsible for the negative energy that caused L's at UT and eventually got him fired. People need to grow the hell up and just deal with it instead of whining all day.

This deal is really kicking up as of this morning. Crazy how every TV break is having ads from both sides nonstop. Shelby saying he won't vote for Moore (prime example of term limits outta control), and Doug Jones pictures with Hillary. Jones coming out in big support of 2nd amendment & a big push to get out the vote by a group called Southern Poverty Law Center (?). There is also a Super Pac called "Highway 31" that is supporting Jones that no one seems to know who is behind. It's very obvious at this point that a hell of a lot of outside money is coming in now, and it's just gonna get crazier. Just updating for folks out of state. I never thought I'd see my wife vote for another Democrat, but she ain't voting for Moore, and that's all I can get out of her. Of course she has always says how she votes is none of my business, so this is nothing new. I live 12 miles from Missippi, so I can just move & still be close to my Mom I guess.

I hate him so much. He is so obviously a gigantic phony/establishment candidate.

I for real heard the Baptists are the ones who politically/financially supported him. I really would not be surprised. They are such fools.

regardless I hope he wins to keep a dem out because I'm pro trump, and then is immediately fired/arrested or the senate just flat out denies him entry and we get to have a real election.

I'm not voting for anyone though. Just too many terrible choices. I'm pro life, pro trump (usually), and 100% for repealing obamacare. So like...essentially I'm real sad that we're replacing Jeff.Sessions. Probably the best senator this state has ever seen, with a literal buffoon. fml.

This ain't happening. If you want Roy to be elected, you will have to live with him until the 2020 election.

Jeff Sessions was the most powerful senator to ever serve in AL. What an ignorant post to mention moore and jeff in the same sentence. They have nothing in common. That's why no one takes "the other side" seriously, because everyone is just rooting for their own political football team.

You're no better than the people you hate, and people like you are the reason our politics in this country are totally void of meaning, you make me sick.

edit: well...you don't make me sick, but your post does, and that mentality does. It just screams ignorance.

Jeff Sessions is a clown. I am a republican, and I can’t stand him.
