OT: Roy Moore Campaign Rally

Jeff Sessions was the most powerful senator to ever serve in AL. What an ignorant post to mention moore and jeff in the same sentence. They have nothing in common. That's why no one takes "the other side" seriously, because everyone is just rooting for their own political football team.

You're no better than the people you hate, and people like you are the reason our politics in this country are totally void of meaning, you make me sick.

edit: well...you don't make me sick, but your post does, and that mentality does. It just screams ignorance.

He isn’t even well respected. Do you even CSpan? He has a hard time speaking. Has a bullshit bammer accent and he supported that stupid azz policy we had in Alabama that drove out illegal labor pool out hurting farmers and small business. Around the state. It was so bad they had to abandon enforcement and allowed the Mexicans to come back.

Well I unveiled my Doug Jones AVI on a couple of social media platforms today and raised the collective blood pressure in Covington County by a few points...
And Old Man Richard Shelby ain't even gone vote for him. I've heard Shelby speak about a half dozen times & he only has one talk. SOS. The guy that helped start a trailer company I was a part of for 18 years took the Alabama Association director to see Shelby in DC. He barely paid attention to them & was wondering in his mind. He put two pieces of paper together & asked them why didn't we put two sections together. Yep Richard, we call it a double wide

I spent the weekend in Austin. Had two people that asked me about Moore. They wrongly assumed that because I’m a middle aged white dude, I was a Pub. It’s so sad that he’s going to win. But not surprising to me in the least.

I'm more pub than liberal, but I'm voting for Jones. I didn't really think he had a chance until recently, very interested to see how this turns out.

Most polls I saw last week had the Moore lead increasing. I am appreciating the fact that many of my Pub friends aren’t voting PARTY only in this election. I just don’t think there will be enough to change the typical result.

these special elections are almost all about who actually turns out to vote. The polling sucks because you can't predict it.

Moore wins is rural turnout is super high across the board. I don't know how likely that is but I knew something was strange in 16' after driving past some rural polling spots that I've been driving past for years.

Jones wins is rural turnout is normal for something like a midterm election or worse and he can amp up turnout in the bigger cities/suburbs and get the youth vote in. People under 30 in the non-rural areas will go for Jones in significant #'s and the few polls that have reached out only to cellphone users and not landlines have Jones up by something like 30 points.

This is completely unpredictable b/c we don't know who will actually go to the polls. Diehard Moore folks will go. Lifelong liberals who see a chance to win an election in AL will all show up. The rest is a crapshoot. I actually think Jones wins now, because the enthusiasm is all on his side. You have the true blue Moore fans but they aren't nearly as large as the national media has portrayed them to be. You have a lot of GOPers, some in this thread as an example, who just won't vote for Moore. And when days get busy tomorrow I think the millennial and the college kids and the motivated anti-Moore folks are more likely to take some time and go vote where the typical GOP voter who isn't a Moore follower will just end up brushing it off.

but Alabama.

Individual experiences mean little, but I've been voting at the same spot for a long time now and most of the time here in little Springville, AL I will see between 0-2 black voters and maybe 1 person under the age of 30.

Over a dozen black voter there today along with another handful of 20-somethings. Last time I saw anything like that was the 2008 Presidential election. Again, it won't matter if the rural while vote turns out for Moore in large numbers but it's not nothing either.

The state of AL is a cartoon of the cartoon it's perceived to be by everywhere else in the US and around the world. Amazing.
It's really amazing honestly. At some point, common decency and character really should override political tribablism, and we're seeing how much stupid politics really can blind people here.

If Doug Jones would've just played some of the game a bit and bended more right, especially on abortion then I think he wins in a runaway.

From what I've seen, this is pretty much what he has done, sans the abortion issue which he has wisely stayed away from. I found out yesterday that several people that I work with are voting for Moore that don't even go to church, so it's deeper than all that. I'm not gonna lie to please everyone on here that I conveniently went on a work trip this week to avoid all of this. Bad as it is, I voted for neither. Everything on the table, I once voted a straight party GOP ballot & felt nasty when I walked out.
Also about six years ago, I was invited to go to a meeting where the GOP executive director was to speak. I called the local paper to cover it (guy is a Democrat that I invited), and the executive director told him to ask what he wanted to ask & GTFO. Then he asked who invited the guy behind closed doors, I raised my hand, left & never went to another. I just hope that idiot horse riding arse hole loses. So there it all is, like it or not. I got a best friend I've been texting down here & he voted for Moore but wouldn't admit it.
Both my Democratic grandpas never said who they voted for in Nixon versus McGovern & I didnt want to be a hypocrite so I didn't do my civic duty today. Neither did my wife
TL;DR. I'm in Dothan headed to Hunt's Seafood. I've lived in a backward state all of my life & I'll die here. And despite everything, it's been a good life.
Good Night GREG

Awesome stuff. Trump’s twitter should be fire
"Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!"

*****fire

look dude, I gave moore the ole, no vote. But dems who hate trump more than moore disgust me. It's like republicans who hated barry more than soros/hillary/bill

It just comes off as ignorant and hypocritical.

trump is the worst president in American history, and it's not even close. The guy can't open his mouth without lying, and acting like a petulant child. There is literally no comparison between him and any other political figure in American history, and I mean that in the worst way possible for trump. He's a horrible human being, and I can't wait to watch him, and his entire s**tstain of a family, get taken down by Robert Mueller. His judgement cometh, and that right soon.

I've studied enough American history to know that no candidate has ever conspired with an enemy to steal an election, while having laundered their money for decades. You sound like someone who has been immersed in fox news for so long you forgot what the truth sounds like.

haven't watched fox news in 9 or so years.

BET YORE COUNTY AINT AS RED AS MINE.

SLepxCt_d.jpg

My former home county is a bit pinkish--:).
Escambia to the west of you.
My other home county is a little bit blue and I think Conecuh ended up that way.

Solly's county is as red as yours. Those folks have been Republicans for a long, long time, right @FormerlyKnownAsSOLLY -- Marion. I am joking a little--Winston is the original Red for the state. I think those folks wanted to remain in the Union and were put on lock-down in 1860.

Just rambling--

Blaze ON!!!
