Gameplan for tonight - pour a stiff bourbon drink for the first half, pour a 2nd one for the 2nd half. I was on track. Then I drank two more during the first OT and two more during the 2nd OT. Work is going to suck balls tomorrow.
As awful as Samir played, he ended up with a great stat line. 17 points, 5 boards, 3 assists and only 3 TOs. No idea how that happened.

It was the only way possible, straight grinded it out. Mac had some big 3's, but really it was a straight grind back in it and win it game IMO.

Bruce talked about changing the starting 5 to avoid these slow starts and I’m assuming it means getting Mac in somewhere...but don’t think we can go that small to start vs UK. Maybe he’s gonna start Austin witch Mac at the 4 (Danjel seems particularly slow starting to me lately....like he needs 10 minutes to remember we have a game)

I started fixing random things around the house that had been bothering me to not watch some of the late 1st half action after we got down 16. I changed a few lights, tightened the bolts on a few of the kids chairs...I was ready to do anything other than watch that game the way we were playing.
Mac hit a few 3's and we looked like we at least were gonna play hard when the 2nd started. They got my attention again, but even then we got it down to 5 and let it go back to double digits quickly...I thought that was likely the end. They just keep grinding man. This team isn't pretty and I'm not sure we have any guards that are starting quality for a Top 25 team, but we just keep stacking W's. And for all the road worries we're 2-2 in conference on the road with a great win at MSU (they are gonna finish top 4 in the league IMO...go look at that schedule that they have remaining).

That was insane. Our slow starts are so frustrating but it’s almost like we set people up. Expecting us to play well Saturday but also expecting another tight game.
Craziest part is that Samir continued to make mistakes, but also won us the game. We almost lost the game at the end of the 1st O.T. but Samir came up with a loose ball after J'von got ripped, and if he hadn't they would have had a layup to win the game. He also got their best player out of the game by drawing a foul near the end of regulation. Grinded out 17 points, but I still wouldn't say he played well.
@ALLTIGER85 hope you took Rutgers if you paid any attention to my advice. Purdue had a chance to cover late but never had the lead after a few minutes. Got outshot 37-10 and outscored 25-7 from the line. Hard to overcome that on the road.
