eh, not much to say imo... no real thoughts on that specific game, just all about Gus in general
I’ll give Gus credit again, that’s 2 games in a row we came out and slapped the piss out of a team early... I’ll give him credit for tweaking some playcalling and run designs to help this candyass OL create a few holes... and the passing game, while still remedial, has at least added a few wrinkles that help Bo do just enough to keep the chains moving until he starts hitting a few more deep balls
it’s hard to get too too excited because it’s Gus... but, I will say these last 2 weeks have had a different feel than years past when we’d crush Arkansas or Mizzou or Miss St, or even the Tulane game a few weeks ago
so I’m not going to shit on Gus just to do it, or drum up some fake outrage to make myself feel better about despising him... I think we’ve got “Good Gus” right now, so I’m going to enjoy it because he’s a tremendous frontrunner (and that’s not a backhanded compliment)
but I’m not getting sucked back in
I actually went to the game. First one I have been to in a while and was driving back home last noght
I was AFK last night or I'd have been singing Bo and Seth's praises all night. Defense looked very good, outside of still not having a WDE/Buck worth a damn. Secondary is gonna have to tighten up a little bit but overall they're a top-tier SEC unit.
DJ Williams needs to be getting KMart's touches going forward. Oh yeah, and Anthony Schwartz is turning into a real football player, not just a track/gadget guy.
Also, I will say this once and then never bring it up again: Gus called a helluva game last night.
I do think what we are seeing is the impact of Gus being in control while having some of the correct pieces for what he does best. We're missing an elite RB and elite OL but they are serviceable and now he has a massive speed threat in 5 and another deep threat in 18. He's got his Swiss army blocking type player in Nigh. He'll move him around, pull him....and about the time you key on him he hits you for 30 the other way. And Nix is the best running starter we've had since NM14 even if he's not close to NM14 level...it matters he's good enough to be a threat.
I'm still no Gus fan but I think what we're seeing is that you at least get some fun games and some interesting stuff when Gus is running things and not doing some hybrid BS where he "manages" play calling and game plans that someone else works on. 2014 broke him and he's been questioning everything ever since. Now he looks like he's back to doing the things that worked for him and he's got a feel for the games again. I still have 100 issues with other things he does but I'll give him credit for getting himself back on track.
I actually spent $5 over face for some scholarship tix in section 9 cause I knew that’s where the HYG ceremony would be. Also got low row 16 so I could get as close as I could to them & Sir Charles rocking that #7 retired Pat Sullivan jersey. I saw more basketball promotion last night than I have in a full season of the hut hut & BRUCE was on the Jumbotron promoting everything Boog all night. Also hooked up with my man @CJ3131 before the game and at halftime up in the millionaire section. Looked for @bprockman v3.0 at half a section over, but via text he had already left to have the sex. Also enjoyed the game as well.

I’ll admit I thought he was too far gone to salvage the “good”, but he’s doing a very good job right now... there’s a logic and a purpose and a, dare I say competency, to the way he’s building the offense - which is all I can ask for
I kept tuning into the thread and @Harvey Specter was having private time fantasizing about young Bo. I felt it only proper to let him finish and act like I didn’t see a thing.
I mean pretty much this except I don’t think we have beaten a good team. Good is relative though and there may only be a handful of good teams. I don’t buy UF being good. We win that one and 9-3 becomes the floor. If he can win one of LSU/UGA/bama I will give him credit. I think we are probably headed for 9-3, which will look great to the sunshine pumpers, but the improvement next year won’t happen without some miraculous finds on the OL.

I understand your point. And you know I hate Gus as much or more than anybody here. Just no reason to talk about it right now. For now he can’t have us any better than 5-0 and improving each week.
Well gents guess I may have to watch some huthut into October this season. Full disclosure I watched most of the TAMU game while on vacay and fired up this one last night.
Hard to complain about much. Young Lance Nix looked sharp. Thought he was mostly ass in the TAMU game. Seth is a stud. Schwartz to me is the glue for this O and allows Gus to dial up his rinky dink BS without much consequence. OL looks pretty good I guess. D of course is ridic.
If we had another elite big body WR think we’d be pretty complete. Wouldn’t hurt my feelings if we had a better back than Boobee but he’s aight. The #99 thing still irks me to oblivion but whatev undefeated so ok Gus do your thing.

Oh also must give a shout to young KJ Britt. Child is a complete stud and shows love to our beloved HYGs with the Final 4 T. Had no expectations for him and I mean he’s just a baller.
Yes. Some of us have been echoing this point since last season. The child is an animal and I hope to god he doesn’t go pro after this season
