Games start today. About the only time I actually watch. Probably won’t watch much of the first rd so I’ll let you guys have at it.

But rd 2. Yeah, I might watch some of that

I’m confused by that whole situation
As am I. From what I’ve read, which there isn’t a lot to read, all he has is a deep thigh bruise. I think the deep ceded issue is he wants out of SA, due to it being a bottom 3 tv market. He wants to make more money on marketing deals, so he sees this as an easy way out. It’s frustrating as he’s a top 3 player in the NBA. They would beat the Warriors without Steph this round if he played.

meh. i think that's way overplayed. The Spurs aren't holding him back in anyway shape or form as far as marketing/endorsement potential is concerned. Paul George had huge endorsement deals when he was at Indiana. Russ Westbrook has huge deals and a massive profile and he's in a similar to even smaller market in OKC. The problem with Kawhi is a) he's got a boring personality. I can't think of anything that he's ever said that interesting. He's just robotic. B) He or the media have branded him as the ultimate 2 way player that plays amazing defense. He's a great offensive player, but everyone raves about his D. And unfortunately for him, great Defense isn't the sexiest attribute for anyone looking for someone to endrose their product. c) and I'll say this is a minor problem for him, but Greg Pop will always be the actual star of the spurs. But a big player/personality could overtake him but Kawhi isn't that.

Like I said, I don't think San Antonio is holding him down. Leornard just doesn't have a very engaging personality or game for casual fans to get excited about.

Is it confirmed he’s not playing?

Giannis Antetokounmpo

I watched a special on him on 60 minutes.. After watching that special I am pulling for him. What a great story and seems like a great guy... Hell of a player!!

what do the 76ers do if Markelle Fultz actually becomes good? What was the original plan for him anyways? Because Ben Simmons is just ridiculous and I don't see why you'd move Simmons out of the PG position. They should've just drafted Tatum

People on tbb ran Simmons game down his year at LSU. That’s about all you need to know about B-ball talk on that board.

Simmons is becoming one of my favorites to watch along with Russ and Dame. The Sixers have an awesome chemistry and if Embiid comes back full strength they're a really good team. Fultz was a shit pick but they've hit all the right notes otherwise.

I'd love it if Giannis was able to knock off the boring ass Celtics and set up the most exciting Eastern Conference playoffs semis in recent memory. Raps/Cavs and Sixers/Bucks would be big fun. It'll probably be good even if Boston advances, really.

As for the West, I wish the Wolves had been able to get a more favorable first round matchup. The only team I hope doesn't advance is New Orleans, and that's just because they'd be a placeholder without Boogie. Of course I'd prefer a Russ/Harden second round matchup but I'd really be okay with Utah advancing. They've been amazing. Rockets/Thunder and Dubs/Blazers is ideal but it's obvious where the West will end up.

Anyway, TLDR. Dubs over Cavs in 5.

just remembered that the sixers also drafed Okafor who was a total mondo bust. The process has had it's hiccups but they could have had Porzingis instead of him. Whoa. Doubt they'd have gotten Simmons though if that happened so it's all worked out fine

Been some fantastic ball so far. Bucks/ Celts going to OT after some ridic late 3s.

Kawhi - as recently as last April - was the 3rd best player in the NBA by a considerable margin...

make any argument you want as to his current ranking - but before Zaza went full Bruce Bowen, Kawhi was the 3rd best player in the world

I’ll entertain no arguments to the contrary because valid ones do not exist

Who were the top two in your estimation?

Who were the top two in your estimation?

Lebron
KD
Kawhi
Steph

no strong feelings to my rankings beyond that

right now I’d have the same top 2, Harden and Davis 3/4 in either order... and a jumbled mess beyond that depending on who’s healthy & happy... but we’re all just biding time til Giannis decides to bring the rest of his alien race to this planet and enslave us - or at least gets some help from his corches and front office so he can unleash the full wrath of his species on the court

Wonder where Lebron is gonna go this summer? Really hope it's not the Lakers. I've quite enjoyed the absence of Lavar Ball from our media diet and Lebron going to LA will just ramp back up the Ball talk.

Exactly!
