Greg - question about that targeting call at the end

How do the refs get away with that? Flagrant disregard for the rules.

Greg, Greg, Greg. Had you already headed for the Yeti by that point?
OK, the referees made the mistake, but the CAA corrected it. When I inquired about the play with the league yesterday, commissioner Joe D'Antonio said they were looking at it and would eventually have a decision. Just to note, the league does review every targeting call made in a CAA game after each weekend. D'Antonio said he reviewed it with the coordinator of officials. The play didn't effect the outcome of the game, but it warranted reversal because of the way it was handled with video review. There was injury timeout, change of possession and JMU ran a play - if a call needs to be reviewed, it has to happen before the ball is snapped for the next play. That said, this way more about the decision to review the play via video very late as opposed to the targeting call itself.

You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Down here we call what happened after that play on Saturday a little bammer home cooking, except that if it had happened here the league would have suspended Maginley for six games and given the refs a $500 bonus.
