OT: AU Hut Hut Squad

So, let's say Gus is fired this season... who's your pick to replace him?
AU now has Jimbo Fisher, Kirby Smart, and the big boss Nick Saban in the schedule every year. Three of the top 5 coaches in the game. I really can’t see Auburn getting anyone that’s going to bring the fan base what it wants until some of these guys are off the schedule. Just too difficult

Also doesn't need to sleep on this guy, until he beats him..

If it’s winning championships or bust you’re probably right. That being said, the model is there and AU is a place that can be successful, unlike 90% of college football teams today. Get a guy who can recruit with some charisma and AU sells itself a lot.

KIFFIN

no other option is acceptable
Love boom, but no. Dude had a golden opportunity to do something at SC while the entire east was down and did bupkis. No reason to think he’d do any better at AU.

I wouldn’t mind Lane solely because there’s no doubt he’d be dirty AF in recruiting and the train wreck at the end would surely be spectacular

Yes, the entire East was down. UGA 34 wins, UF 24 Wins, UK 24 wins. Boom 22 wins (at the second/third worst SEC program all time). AU 24 wins in same time frame. God Gus sux.

I’d be all about Kiffin for the reasons you mentioned.

Looks like the 5* challenge is littered with Clemson, AM and uga commits (future) commits. Not much talk of bama and Boog kids. The one kid that looks like he could become a monster is the Cohen kid. He got some good praises. Looks like a future stud if our old a$$ OL corch does not F’ him up somehow.

Was talking to a friend over in Georgia and he expects uga to pickup another 4 or 5 of the kids from the challenge. He said the Ringo and Sewell kids are freaks. Sure fire first round talent guys. They expect to get both. Along with Milton and possibly Arik and maybe a few more. The one kid they really hate they missed on is the clemmy commit Bresee. Said that dude is a bull. Reminds him of a young JJ Watt. Anywho, really hope we can get enough leftovers to maybe hang within striking distance until ole Kirby and Dabo quit, get fired, move to the league or something.

Really don’t even care about Ws and Ls at this point. I just need someone that doesn’t make me want to punch a puppy when I look at them or listen to them. I had zero idea who the head coach from OM was and still couldn’t tell you his name. He looks like a std dude pulled from the bleachers but he seemed to be able to bond with his players. He seemed to be able to refrain from looking / sounding like a goober. I’ll take that any day of the week at this point.

If Jimbo can continue to develop Kellen Mond then I feel there’s good value in those A&M odds

I don’t think you do have it. What I meant was two dlinemen coming back for Gus. If I had to guess they came back for their position coaches and teammates. They may have been quoted though as saying otherwise, I don’t pay attention to football like I used to.

Happy 4th to you.

I’m not on Team Boom. Always been Team Bill but I understand that would be a tough sell if we have to pay Gus a huge buyout to hire UABs coach. Would imagine we would try to hire Purdue or Iowa States coach if we made a change

Pretty sure both of those dudes just signed big contracts. Probably both unobtainable especially if AU has to buy Gus out too

If we landed Big Dick Matt Campbell I would be happy. Average Dick Jeff Brohm would not make me happy.

So what do we think about the Boog board take that if we can’t get a stud muffin as coach then hire TWill and give him time to be the next Dabo

I'd only give T Will the HC position right now if people genuinely think that he's the absolute best option out there. If he's not, then let him go somewhere and get some more experience. He's gonna be our Kirby smart. We can call him home as our HC whenever we want. He's such a boog homer that he's never gonna turn down momma if we come calling

Pretty wild stat imo and demonstrates that almost every fan base besides Bama and Clemson gets frustrated with their coaches about winning big games

Surprising to me that Bama has the most games against that criteria. Always read their schedule is a joke. And I know the playoff games add to it, but they also give out a lot of losses to teams that probably hurt teams chances of finishing higher.
