Boogs v Arkansas

i mean if we could ever have used DP and AW this is the stretch...Chuck I hope it was worth it bud.

My heels about to take an L at home. Big for our 2 line hopes.

it may take a run to the finals of the SECT to seal it, but so many top 5/top 10 teams keep going down it’s not a lost cause yet... not gonna get that Nashville/Atlanta draw we were hoping, so at this point a 3 with a good draw isn’t much worse than a 2 out west just for the sake of being on the 2 line

gotta make it to Nashville damn it

Yeah. This L doesn’t hurt our metrics that much from what I can see. Gotta get that W on Sat and at least one in the SEC could still get a 2. Still look good for Nashville at least. I guess UT could pass us there that would suck.

There has been one positive tonight. I'll never have to read "ser sweater whatever hisnameis" post again during a game. Look fellas, don't let someone ruin your Auburn basketball experience with shitty idiotic post. Just don't respond and he'll be sucking Jay Tate's dick in no time.

ugh...hate to bunk here but this team seems to be sputtering into the postseason. Bryce has to get healthy, Jared has to step up and Prince Tega has to step up.

A week ago we beat bama by 19. I'm glad we are sputtering now if we are going to sputter. We'll be ok!

Worn down? We are at almost 80 points and have shot like shit. I think Arkansas has played great! I don't look at us as a gassed team at all.

Go back and watch how often we don't run out at shooters. How many mental errors we're making that we weren't a month ago. How many times our guards, who have carried a huge load and been asked to do a ton in the last few weeks, are 3 steps off and give up open looks they would have challenged or even stopped from happening before this little stretch.

It may just be the short rest and Tuesday game with a ton of travel. We get an extra day off over USCe so that's something. Maybe we're not worn down in the way that means we can't bounce back...maybe it was just tonight. But we shot 34% and 25% from 3. We scored 80 because the pace of the game was insane and we shot 34 free throws and thats how Arkansas plays. We didn't score 80 because our legs are fresh and all is well.

USCe did last year too. It happens. I think we just need that weeks rest. We will be ok.

We had a bad shooting night. We shoot "decent" and we win, but it's unrealistic to think we won't have an off night. We had an off night in an arena that's hard to win. We'll bounce back and everything will be sea shells and balloons again.

Literally can't care about the postseason now. I just want the SEC regular season banner. Don't care if UT gets to claim a part either. I want the banner. We don't get many.

I gave up on a long tourney run when Mac went down. I'll start talking myself into a fun draw and interesting tourney run after we get that. Until that moment I'm not thinking about anything else.

Play defense. Catch and shoot 3’s. Alley oops. That’s his game and all he should ever try to do.

in the 1st every time he tried to do anything it was bad. He needed to just pass the ball to the open guy and move. That's all. Wait for good looks or cut to the basket. DO NOT TRY TO BE A HERO.

And Brown needs to stop trying to force 3's off the dribble so often. Get in a flow by moving and finding spot up 3's or drive. He's getting ball screens and then desperately wants that 3 ball even though everyone is trying to take it away. Of course even when he's getting good looks he can't hit them right now. Hard to get W's that way for this team.

I can say this with 100% certain. This fanbase(this year) overreacts to a loss.

We've lost 3 of 4 since Mac went down. That's not one loss. That's a trend and it's got a really obvious root problem. Now all 3 were on the road and we got a big home W but that team we beat is blowing chunks right now too. So it's fair to wonder if this team has much left, or if losing a player with an already thin roster was a death blow.

This place, minus a few, doesn't typically overreact. But right now the trend is nasty and we need The Clam to be the home court advantage that gets us over the hump.

We have lost 2 games on the road to two good teams. I expected us to lose to UF and Arky on the road.....even with Mac. While we have played great, I never thought we were a flawless unbeatable team. We'll win big Saturday to clinch at least a share of the title.

What is the over reaction? We aren’t playing good ball right now. Right now we are at best a round of 32 team. I hope Florida, South Carolina, and tonight are not a trend but it appears to be. Yes we beat Bama at home. They shot terrible and we are pretty awesome at home. Feels like we haven’t booged in a long time.

This. We must look at our reality. To overcome depth we must shoot much better. We have been shooting like azz.

You expected us to lose 2 games yet a few weeks ago you said this team runs the 99 team out of the gym. That team didn’t lose 3 of 4 at the end of the year if I recall.

We are just a cold shooting team right now. Who knows how long this lasts.

We needed one win in the last 3 games of the regular season to get a title.

We lost the first 2 games.

So now all of it comes down to one game. We "should" be better at home. We should beat a mediocre at best USCe. If we do, all of this will be fine and we'll forget about the L's and your take that we lost games we probably should have lost on the road. If we don't win though it's an epic choke job and a total collapse that we'll never forget and we won't feel like it was okay to lose those games.

We were underdogs the first two of the last three. We are extrememly lucky that we are in the position we are in. Your fandom has made you ignorant.

I'm not down at all on the guys right now. They have shot as porely as I can ever remember a team shooting and they were within 5-6 on the road in the last few minutes of every game.

The shots will start falling again, and our guys will start stud-muffing teams off the court.

I don't think I'm the one who is letting my fandom make me "ignorant".

If this was Ole Miss who was going after a rare conference title and they had a 2 game lead with 3 to play and they now were down to the last game and needed a W to hold on I'd say the same exact thing. Hell I'd probably be a bit more harsh when they lost the last game and saw the title go elsewhere. For the most part, the schools that have stunk at hoops don't get many seasons like this one. Gotta make it count or it hurts. Period.

You are reading me simply saying "if we win this last one nobody will care about the 2 road losses....and if we lose and UT wins and we finish 2nd it will be an epic collapse" and you interpret that as being "ignorant"? I don't know how gauging the perception of something could be seen as close to facts as this would be. Would have lost 3 in a row and 5 of our last 8 after 9-1 start in league play. That's a collapse. It wouldn't matter if there were a couple of tough road games where we were 2 point underdogs. 5 losses in 8 games after starting 9-1is a pretty memorable collapse for anyone.

I'm not bashing the squad, I love these guys. They fought last night like hell when there was no hope and they couldn't hit layups. They kept coming. They were thin to start the season, undersized and screwed by the NCAA and kicked in the teeth to boot by our administration. I'm not sure why you think it's some kind of ignorance if we call this what it would be though...a collapse. I've qualified multiple times now that winning Saturday is likely and that it washes away ALL OF THIS. Do you not see that part or is that somehow also ignorant cause I'm a bit confused by your use of that term.

GUILTY as charged after this one...I don't think this is end of days, but have accepted that the boys are mentally and physically worn out. They haven't stopped fighting but a couple have stopped focussing. The ref situation is just compounding this teams ability to operate and defend in the paint and without that it just kinda cascades: not as many rebounds, putbacks, dishout 3's ... i could go on but why bother.

Still think hands down this has been the most exciting, lovable, hardworking and by far most handsome group to hit the Plains in my lifetime. I haven't given up i just hate that they're one to two bodies away from a good run in the tourney.
I would have been happy with just making the tourney at the beginning of the season, just hate it for the guys that they're limping into the post season.

It's not a collapse. We peeked and played way above our heads(credit to Bruce) for most of the season. We are still playing hard, but the experts had us losing the past two games and I'm not surprised we did. Winning at the O'Connell Center and at Bud Walton is a tall task for any team; especially in back to back games. Those teams are taller and IMO more talented, yet we fought our asses off and had chances at times. Probably would have won at home or on a neutral site. This team has played so well we forget how damn tough it is to win on the road. Two weeks ago I said I see 5 losses, but hoped we could sneak one out on the road at UF or at Arky. It didn't happen, but I don't see it as a collapse. We faced two teams that are fighting to stay in the tournament at their house and IMO your fandom has made you ignorant to the reality of the situation. JMO

I'd feel better if UT had just lost last night. Every team in the country has gone through a raggedy stretch, except maybe UVA. I thought our d on the perimeter was suspect to start the game but after that it was just kinda Bryce missing, them making. Refs not letting the home club ever get in real jeopardy. Had a couple looks to make it interesting. We're still in position for a 2-3 seed we handle business on Saturday and get a win in the SECT. My only real gripe is Malik at this point.

Agreed!

I think I'm as frustrated with the coaches right now as I am anything else about the game. I didn't think the defensive game plan made much sense. Bryce clearly isn't 100%, which showed when he hobbled around several times (kinda thought he acted a bit like last year's Bryce at times), Horace is a walking foul waiting to happen, we're thin and can't afford early foul trouble, and we're playing our third game in 7 days on a really quick turnaround with long travel. I'm not suggesting they reinvent the wheel, but I don't think the coaches did a very good job of protecting the players or putting them in a better situation.

Not having Mac and Bryce not being fully healthy is hurting us, but it doesn't seem like we're making many adjustments to compensate for that defensively. We seem to have lost our identity as a defense without those two players and the concerns about depth.

To top it all off, I left the window on my car down last night, so now I'm walking around at work with completely soaked pants.

It will be tough to win if Bryce and Jared keep being cold from three. I don't think it will stay like this, but gotta get it fixed. Wish we had more depth so we could've rested Bryce the last 2-3 weeks, as he clearly needed to sit and heal up.

The rest from Saturday to Friday will be huge
