OT: NBA Draft thread

Steph should be in the conversation as to whether he’s a top 5 player in the league right now, but LMFAO at him being in the GOAT conversation.

Austin Wiley | 6-11, C | Auburn | 19 years old
Agent: No
Projected draft slot: second round to undrafted
Key stats: n/a
Comment: One of the many prospects caught up in the FBI investigation this year, Wiley was expected to be in this season’s NBA Draft but missed the season due to being held out of competition by Auburn. To be frank, I’ve never totally understood his appeal as an NBA prospect. He’s near 7-feet with a 7-5 wingspan, but he doesn’t really move all that well at 260 pounds and also doesn’t have much of a face-up game. Additionally, his defensive rebounding in his 400-plus minutes last season as a freshman was relatively weak, especially for a player his size. Throw in that Wiley has significant questions about the long-term viability of his knees and legs, which NBA teams will undoubtedly want to look at when he attends the NBA Combine, and I’m not sure there’s much to get excited about with regard to his prospects right now. If he was to return and play well for an Auburn team that could really use a big presence inside, that could tangibly change his fortunes.

Sounds good for us Boog fans

Also had a write up on the other Boogs. Seemed a little higher on Staph the most (top 100/ possible 2nd rounder). But basically said he sucks at playing with teammates and has one of the worst assist rates of anyone in draft history.

Said Jared and Bryce need to come back obviously. Said Boogs D was better when Jared wasn’t on the floor.

Yeah feel pretty good about it. He’d have to just blow up the combine and even then would getting in the top half of the 2nd discussion be enough for him to leave?

I’m having visions of all 4 studs holding a joint presser in about 2 weeks to all say they’re back to Boog.

Stop it, you're making me tingle.

The defense we could play with Brown and Mitchell at the guard spots was delicious. Especially when we had Mac protecting the rim. We harassed the hell out of you on the perimeter, making life miserable and making some guards hope their coaches subbed them out. When you did get past them, you had to deal with the SEC leading shot blocker + possibly Chuma as well. So tasty.

Interesting read:

Basically all the 2nd rd picks are getting paid now. At least down to about the 50th pick getting $2M guaranteed. Not sure what that means for Austin he’s still not likely to go that high. Would make a lot of sense for Staph to come back though cause he could get there next year.
I didn't realize the jump in guaranteed money. If Austin shows out at the combine and moves up to the top of the second, I'd be Audi 5000 if I were him.

@cookedw I talked to him yesterday but I was just asking him about Bruce's camps this summer.I'll check in next week and see if he's heard anything on Austin.

actually breakin down last years stats his jumping and sprint #s are pretty good. The agility drill time was pretty bad. I think he's tested well overall but he's not setting the bine on fire or anything. Got the DVR set see what he looks like in the scrims later.

What channel is that on?
