We need Gus to do just good enough to get a job somewhere else. Would be embarrassing to have him hired away at first but we would win in the end. He can go coach life champions at Tenn for example.

I hate to even go there but I just do not see Gus winning or losing more than 9 games this year. Is this good enough to get his Hiney (hopefully Greg does not dissaprove of this word choice) hired elsewhere.

His absolute ceiling this year is 9 wins. We can talk about the squad looking like it improved a few things without assuming he's going to hit that ceiling. Dude wastes timeouts like he thinks they are unlimited and runs his backs till they break. His starting QB is only about 20% better at avoiding hits than Sean White was. The likelihood that we get zero major, soul crushing injuries and win every toss up game seems low to me.

Still see 7-8 wins. He will absolutely screw 1-2 games up. He's Gus.

Don't worry guys - this past weekend reinforced his belief that the wildcats and sugar huddles work. He'll try them on Todd Grantham and get absolutely destroyed.

i don't see him leaving without being run out of town. the dynamics have changed drastically from a few years ago when we feared the NFL would poach him (lulz sounds like his buddy germy) and he knows how incredibly lucky he is to have that gig. He'd never give it up on free will alone

I'd have to know all the dynamics behind the scenes. If TPTB are making life miserable he might be tempted to take a decent gig elsewhere even if it was a step down.

I think this is likely a very dumb hypothetical to play out though. The odds is Malzahn looking smart enough that anyone wants to hire him seem really, really low. He's not being given credit for any part of our potential success. Steele has the best unit that's carrying us. Chip is running the offense and I can now see his fingerprints on it. Gus isn't the recruiting force. What's the thing he does that someone hires him for?

Jacobs will just give him more money.

All facts. I find it hard to believe any power 5 AD not run by yay yacobs would offer him anything. Like you said he's a fairly worthless member of society at this point, imagine the guy working an actual job where performance legitimately matters

Bringing the sweater vest + short sleeve turtle neck look back.
