Boogs vs Northeastern (not men's softball)

I'm sure northeastern is a juggernaut and will be in the World Series this year.

How many pitches did he end up throwing? Was at 89 I think through 8 with 13 k’s. Efficient as you can get.

I think 105.

If I'm looking at the box score correctly, an error away from a perfect game. No BBs

That's what announcers said.
Yeah, In the 5th or so, Holland fielded a ball off a weird hop, tried to make the play but pulled the 1st base guy off the bag with the throw. It also looked like Holland hurt his throwing hand on the play. Was a good effort by all involved but just couldn’t make the play cleanly. The throw is where the error was attributed.

Man, I have been impressed with some the new guys so far and their hitting.

Venters is killing the ball and Wright has probably been the biggest surprise of all. Both JUCOs

And as far the freshman goes, a lot of the talk is normally on Williams, but the kid from Canada (Julien) has been really impressive at the plate.

In the first game of the DH (currently in B6), all four of these guys have gone yard, with Wright having hit 2 HRs

The pitcher for NE in this second game tonight is legit. I mean, he could easily take Davis Daniel’s spot in the rotation for us. It’s a shame he’s not in the SEC. we’ve done nothing at the plate against him other than getting sat right back down. Hopefully he’ll tire and start throwing some junk that we can do something with.

Had great numbers coming into tonight’s game. Did they save their ace?

Dude is dealing right now. Has a no-no through 6. Other than a diving catch to save an extra base hit and maybe one or two other really good plays, he has shut us down

We are clearly the far superior team batting wise. So, how does a no-no from this NE pitcher compare to the Mize no-no last night? Could you imagine running through the SEC with Mize on Fridays, this guy on Saturdays, and Burns/Daniel on Sundays?

What happen on the play at home? Great play by the SS?
It was. But was also stupid of Gabe to wave Julien around. Was waving him around before the ball even got to the dirt and was still in front of the SS. I guess he thought there was no way the SS was going to get to it. But he did. And Julien was dead to rights at the plate.

Tried to score from second on a grounder that the shortstop caught?

He made a diving stop in short/shallow left. SS was playing deep and we had a hit/run on with 2 outs. It was a great play by the SS but it was not some near Ozzie Smith/Rafael Belliard type wizardry. Just a solid play.

Ah didn’t realize it was a hit and run, got it
