He will probably get a years ext so he’ll still have 4 left and it can’t be used against him in recruiting. They can extend him for 20 years and it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is the buyout.

We will never go back to any day where the buyout isn't close or IS the full contract IMO. Why would any coach sign on for years that aren't guaranteed?

Don’t know how many y’all remember Tater Tots exit, but he was like at 1-6 & just flat quit on his team in the middle of the season cause they wouldn’t guarantee he would be back. Same thing happened to a couple other coaches that year but they finished their season like real men. Just FWIW

Yep. I remember a whole bunch of people made a big stink about how Lowder blah blah blah but in the end nobody made him quit when he did. He wouldn't have been the first coach to be told that he wasn't guaranteed he was coming back.

Wouldn't he have 4 years left on his contract after this year? 2018, 2019, 2020 + 4 more years?

Yep. That's a brain fart on my part. While he signed it in 2017, it was December of 2017

Feels like it was forever ago because when he signed it we immediately shat the bed and only had 7 more years on his 7 year contract.
