Alright peeps. I know we have one game left but I think we can all agree that we are ready to move on to next year.

All this young athletic talent having a full offseason in the dungeon (@Denim Vest) will do wonders.

prime transfer/processing candidates:
I hate to do this to any HYG but it’s very apparent we need to trim some of our roster down.

1. Stretch. Seems like a great teammate, decent defender, and solid rebounder. The other portions of his game just aren’t there.

2.JFrank. Just not sure where he fits in, especially with all the bigs we currently have

Jamal has earned his spot so he can stay. I’m sure we will get a rando transfer like Chris Moore or someone.

incoming players:

jabari - freak. Jaren Jackson type player. Elite shooter from the 4/5 spot and a fluid athlete. Projected top 10 pick in 2022 draft. I’m thinking Sharife will be back. Those two will be ridic together.

Trey Alexander - great combo guard prospect. Good handles and can light it up from deep. I expect him to get significant playing time

powell - counting him here since he didn’t get to play with Sharife at all. Going back to his natural 2 guard position. Knockdown shooter will help tremendously for spacing / Sharife driving lanes. Obvi an adequate secondary creator

a lineup of coop, Powell, flan, Jabari, Thor or Jaylin is top notch and can do it all. Bench depth would be great too with Jamal, one of Thor/ Jaylin, Alexander, dcam, and hopefully a transfer/JUCO back up PG. in this scenario we’d have to find a nice rotation for our 3 bigs. Maybe Moore can step up there and we stick with Powell/Alexander as PG2?

regarding Sharife... I just don’t see any way an nba team uses their 1st round pick on a guard that is way undersized, doesn’t play good defense, and one that doesn’t have a good shot. I think he’s one of those rare college studs that doesn’t necessarily translate to the nba.

Yes god willing Sharife returns, we stay healthy and cruise to a 40-0 natty chip. We’ll work with that for the most part but obviously things get a bit dicey without Sharife or a key contributor.

I think in theory there’s enough mins to go around at 4-5 for Jabari, Thor and Jaylin. Thats 27 min/ gm each. Drop it down to 25 each with a sprinkle of Dylan I’m pretty good with that. Think we could get away with any of these guys playing backup 3 mins if necessary too though. Sounds better than Devan to me in theory although Boogie, possibly Trey, could take those mins too.

Would be ideal to get a backup PG but would any be better than Boogie? No unless it’s Scoot. Jamal been ok there. Trey may have Boogie like combo guard skills. Probably not realistic to get anyone decent here but it’s still probably where I’d look first by opening up J Frank’s scholly.

Feel great about Sharife, Boogie, Al, Thor, Jabari, Jaylin. Good about Trey and Dylan. Ok about Jamal, Devan. Moore, Stretch, J Frank not sure on them.

Perfect world we bring in Scoot and Kessler. Say bye bye to Frank and Stretch. Not perfect world Sharife goes pro, Scoot can’t get here early and no idea wtf we do. Gonna be very good regardless but it’s a fine line between 40-0 natty champs and like 25 win squad that would need a few things to come together to make a Final 4 run.

yeah. I just don't know about sharife. I'd like to think he has some "unfinished business" but he also may make a "business decision" and bolt. I'm with OP though in that, despite him putting up gaudy numbers, he still doesn't scream long term nba prospect to me right now. Just because his 3 ball is poop too. Whatever though. I'm just trying to rationalize a way into him staying.

But an offseason in the dungeon for JT Thor could be outrageous. If he can improve his body and play just half as much as FLanny did this year, then we're talking two top 10 picks with him and Jabari on the team. And oh Boogie P is a 1st rounder too with the way he was playing before his head went into the clouds. Things looking oh so up. Just need Bama to tank in the tourney this year and for the heavens to bless us with good point guard news and we'll be feeling fine

He may be dead on but the better way to say it was that we had a shitty year. He “hustled” on D really late in the year when nobody else did/would. Props to him for that but obviously Bruce can’t say what he means there.

Going to be a long wait til June 15th. I think that’s the day Sharife has to decide, assuming he doesn’t have to officially sign with his Dad before then. May 26th if that’s not the case. I don’t think he’s ready but nobody will pay me for that opinion.

He is for sure not ready, but that doesn't matter. If someone will waste a lottery pick on you to stick you in the G-League for a couple of years then you have to take the money. That being said, I hope his draft eval comes back low enough for him to stick around one more year.
