OT: TBB has really crossed the line now

1) Has that been confirmed?

2) If so, has anyone actually figured out what he said the get banded.

Unless said post(s) have been deleted, don't see anything said in that thread by Doc that would warrant a banding.

They usually delete the post that causes the banding. I bet it is a short term thing.

Via text from Doc, yes.

If they want to ban people for starting political threads on the Bunker, Archie should be banned regularly.

Hold up. He got banded for starting a political thread (about arming teachers) on the Bunker?

The only way they could justify this is they made it very clear that "anymore" posts on this subject after multiple posts were made.

I’d imagine Doc is pretty irritating to deal with for any mods because he stays in character even in Dm exchanges.

Doubt he’s permanently banned though. He gets put in timeout fairly frequently

There was a time when the Doc routine annoyed me, but at some point it became absolutely hilarious to me...plus hidden behind the insanity is some pretty decent takes on football and all things Auburn. Doc is probably my favorite tbb poster at this point. If he wasn't there I'm not sure how they'd survive drivel season.

Would be quite a blow to tbb if doc left for good. His schtick can be quite tiresome but he’d not face any arbitrary bannings here on the Greg. Plus the extra money he’d save be swimming in nights out at Roadhouse Grille or wherever.
I got to come ova heeeer moe often DAWGZ!!!
Lotta good perzunaliteeeeez ova heeer!!!

I know alot of teachers and I'm not sure arming these people is agood call. Many of them would accidentally shoot themselves or a child in a panic situation.

But iwould never ban you for posting otherwise, because I'm not a giant panty waste like @Jay G. Tate. His rustles get rustled.

Colossally idiotic idea, but not ban worthy. Has to be more to it.

Really? You don’t think having a trained volunteer teacher task force would be a good idea? Obviously they’d have to be trained and certified. I honestly don’t see another answer

They have them in churches. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work in schools

We use snakes at my church so nobody messes with us anyway.

I only skimmed over before posting and thought he said teachers should be armed. If that’s not the case my response was harsh. If it was the case, then I stand by it.

I don't think gun violence in schools is a big enough problem to mandate something as vast and disruptive as this.

What part about mandate and volunteer did you miss?

Nobody should possess a weapon in a school if their primary job is not to possess a weapon. The numbers don't back up this complete change in the role of a teacher in a school. There were 7 total adolescent gun deaths in the years 2016 and 2017.

The stolen guns, misfired guns, lost guns, guns left at the desk, mis-used guns would be a far bigger issue than this statistical blip.

If you want to stop what happened in Florida, I would suggest putting more pressure on the FBI to stop these monsters when they get the tips in the first place.

We live in a social media driven fishbowl today that wants us to believe that things are shittier than they actually are. Arming teachers is just another step in taking away the little bit of innocence of our kids.

Your last point is spot on

I just don’t see the big deal of having a handful of teachers that were willing train for active shooter resistance and be able to carry as well

They already do fire drills. They already do tornado drills. And a LOT of schools already do active shooter drills. Why not have a handful of armed teachers in those scenarios?

We aren’t talking about every little old lady teaching English has to be packing. I just don’t see any harm in having it if there are willing people to train and get certified

I think there is a middle ground, for sure. I actually think that continuing the deal with having law enforcement have a presence in schools is a safer bet.

I think schools are still too relaxed with their security overall. Kids and teachers just walk freely around and out of the school too much.

What is strange to me is that we're focused on the weapons in these big shootings and not the fact that in most of these the FBI gets very credible tips. In this case, the shooter literally said multiple times he was going to shoot the school up

Go away, the world is not as bad as you'd have us believe.
