I’m going to tell myself that this, and the decision to not take Sills commitment right away is because Bruce feels good about Scoot.

I’m just gonna keep lying as long as it takes to convince myself he’s Mini Malik and is an overqualified secondary piece that’s good enough to swing games when he’s hot and won’t be relied upon enough to hurt us when he’s cold
Same here and I think that’s a reasonable assumption of his role. I’m cool with our 4th or 5th best guard and 9th through 11th best player capable of going off on teams and scoring double digits in SEC play/big games. The lights won’t be too bright for this guy like they were for Malik, Jvon etc their first years with us. The fact he’s an above average on ball defender is perfect for us.

Yeah he’s a nice depth piece if we accept Thor is gone. Which I don’t but anyway.
He’s not Scoot. We still need Scoot to bring this whole roster back around to the presumed top team in the land we all expect. Without him we’re a mere sweet 16 type team which Bruce will undoubtedly mold into a title contender even though we can’t see it now.
Dude lit us up last year. Maybe Bruce’s voice gets him going. We are going to be deeper than we’ve ever been IMO, even with no Thor or Scoot.

I think the plan was to always have at least 4 guards for next year. When he signed, Auburn had 4 guards on roster and then 3 with Turbo transferring midseason.
This just screams to me that he thought with all the transfers out that he would just be handed a starting role. I hate he is leaving as I think he has a bright future. But with the portal, we could potentially pick someone up that can make an even bigger impact next season than Alexander would have

Flanny will be at the three. Looks like Bruce is valuing ball handling over length. But the lack of length doesn't bother me. Jasper and Sills are really good defenders and guard whoever the 2 from the other team ends up being
